Haven’t played in months. State of the game?
I haven’t played DbD since around August. There were a couple reasons I stopped playing but mainly was just disappointed in the gameplay side of the game (bugs, latency, hitboxes, etc.) how is everything looking now?

Exactly the same, and if you are playing survivor, add to that list horrible queue times.
The new killer is bugged. Latency has never been an issue for me. The patch today should fix hit reg. It was nice but bugged on oni so it was disabled.
The game is far from perfect but its fine overall. Just avoid playing the new killer for now till a hotfix is released.
