Then Hextotems are beginning to gain a real advantage and the game takes longer. And the survivors got another "quest" for "their" game. Profit for both sides. No more 3 min rush games.

    This was my idea as well. Totems were added as a secondary objective. NOED does help give a reason to cleanse them anyway, but the odds are still pretty low of someone running NOED. Alternatively, lighting ALL totems if a hex is active can make this objective a bit more challenging and engaging (sort of like the pig’s boxes), but lighting all would reveal earlier that a hex is live.
