"Relenting" Perk for Survivors

Just a thought while I'm lying in bed with my cat and about to sleep...

A survivor perk with the description:

---

When within 8m of the killer, the killer recuperates slower from missed attacks made with their main weapon.

The cool-down of missed basic attacks is increased by 15/20/25%.

Relenting does not stack with other instances of itself.

---

Considering the killer's recuperation speed for missed attacks isn't really that slow, this perk wouldn't be THAT big of a game changer, and I think it's quite a balancing fit for punishing the killer to make chases more interesting. Would also allow for killers to use Unrelenting more considering not many killers use it.

I think it could also be quite an interesting conbo with dead hard.

Thoughts? :)

  • This perk has the same problem as Overcharge, it relies on incompetence. A killer with much experience would know not to miss their attacks the same way an experienced survivor would know how to hit an Overcharge skill check.

It's not all about just "knowing" though. An experienced killer Vs an experienced player would make things interesting. I have 360'd an attack somewhat often against good killers but this doesn't give me much of an advantage because they recuperate quickly.

The perk isn't supposed to be op, and neither is Overcharge.

I feel this kind of perk would just be oppressive against newbie killers who still miss a lot and actually do almost nothing against good ones.

Newbie killers would be in the lower ranks already though - the same with newbie survivors. It would be balanced.

  • What? Why would we want to stop low rank survivors from running the perk?

The ranking system is in place for a reason - newbie survivors who would use the perk will be placed against newbie killers; the same with experienced survivors being placed with experienced killers. This means they have an opportunity to get used to the perk and because they're of similar experience, the perk won't be so devastating.

First: the idea of encouraging killers to use unrelenting to counter this perk is not a good one, because neither side knows what the other's perks are and it forces one side to use a perk because of the need to counter another one is also not good.

Second: experienced killers will not be much affected by this, just bad or newcomers. Making the experience worse for them and there is no guarantee that the matchmaking system will work, so newbies will do nothing against the good ones.

Third: Recovery from the attack should not be long. objective is to take time to reach a nearby pallet or window and does not create a huge distance.
