Let's try to improve Gearhead and Off the Record
[Gearhead is a Deathslinger perk, Off the Record is a Zarina perk]
These perks are both outclassed by something else that gets the job done more consistently (like Thrilling Tremors/BBQ/Discordance for killer, or Iron Will for survivor). So let's talk about ways to potentially make these two perks more competitive in the game's current state.
Gearhead's description references having an ear for well-oiled gears, so I think it needs to proc a loud noise notification at some point. It could be when a good skill check is completed (it currently highlights gens in yellow when that happens) or my personal favorite, send noise notifications when a great skill check is completed. It could notify the survivor when it happens as well, which would discourage survivors from completing great skill checks and hoping the killer doesn't notice their generator (which would only be highlighted in yellow). I think this would give the perk more value in the highest ranks of gameplay, and make it a more viable option for killers who mostly use M1 attacks.
Off the Record already has a pretty unique effect in being able to hide your aura from the killer, but even with a built-in Iron Will it isn't quite enough to justify running it. There are several ways it could be improved while staying within the spirit of the perk:
- It could silence all of your rushed actions for the duration (like the effect of Quick and Quiet)
- It could hide your scratch marks for the duration (Is this too much? maybe it could be on a separate, shorter duration after being unhooked)
- It could give you a haste status effect after for a time after being unhooked (to double down on being an anti-tunneling perk)

Gearhead just needs to go back to what it was in the ptb (worked for good and great skill checks, lasted longer)
I like the off the record changes apart from the part that hides your scratch marks.
A little reminder about your Off the Record buff. Babysitter (one of Steve's perks) removes scratch marks and pools of blood of the survivor you unhook. If Off the Record removes scratch marks it would make Babysitter even more worthless as there would be even less incentives to run it. Maybe if it made scratch marks linger for a shorter period of time like Lightweight, temporarily though?
