Can people stop being bias to one side

Everyday I hear the same things said by survivors and killers. If its a Survivor they complain about a certain killer like Spirit or Freddy. If its a killer they will complain about DS, Unbreakable, DH. It gets old after a while and most people cannot just have a peaceful talk about it.

Most discussions I've seen go like this. Survivors will bring out a point about something like Ruin/Undying being a boring perk combo and how it should be changed. This is followed up by a killer saying when then nerf DS and Dead Hard instead of being reasonable about it. This needs to stop with the community, it makes discussions unbareable to read.

The main reason for this is that most players only play one side instead of both. I'm not trying to force players into playing both sides, but it would greatly improve the community. Players would have more understanding about the other side of the game like survivor tendencies or a killers counterplay. I have two examples (Deathslinger and DS).

I'll begin with Deathslinger and why it is so frustrating to do against him. Yes as a killer it is fun to play Deathslinger, but as survivor it can be frustrating to go against him. The reason for this is Deathslingers quick scope mechanic. This leaves little to no counterplay to Deathslinger at close range. Deathslinger can just keep raising the gun to force the survivor to wiggle around trying to dodge the deathslinger. This leads to zoning which leads a survivor away from where they want to go. This gives Deathslinger a easy m1 attack if done correctly, but the other way around is to go to the pallet which is also another incorrect read because then the survivor is stuck between a pallet and a wall with no room to dodge.

This is where the survivors come in to play with them saying Deathslinger has no counterplay. This leads to killers saying that survivors are just crying and complaining and somehow end up talking about ds, dh, and then the arguement goes on and on. The fact of the matter is that there is counterplay to Deathslinger to a certain degree. If at a certain range you can drop the pallet early. This although it might lead you to still getting shot stops a down from happening. You can still get shot, but the deathslinger has reel you in around an object which is more difficult then you think, if you play Deathslinger you'll understand that survivors can stick themselves to a corner of a object and break loose, which forces you to reload and gives survivors distance to the next pallet.

In conclusion just don't be greedy as survivor and hold W becuase although a good tactic when he missed the shot can kill you if he has gun reloaded.

Now on the DS. Mostly every killer hates this perk because it gives survivors a second chance if you choose the tunnel them. Yes I'm aware that you can still get hit by it on a rare occasion when not, but 95% it's because you are tunneling. The perk is designed to prevent tunneling, so I don't understand when people do tunnel a survivor knowing most likely they have it. I get some people BM, but in that instance just be the better person and don't give in. Most people BM because they want your attention, or they want you to be frustrated. There is a simple way to counter this. Don't follow them and try to find a weak link. Not every team has one, but most of the time in a game there is 1. It is a 4v1 not a 1v1 and some killers tend to forget this. As a killer you must extend map pressure and tunneling a guy who might have ds is not the way to do. Know getting back on topic, As a killer you can do things to stop ds. Go find another survivor after hooking someone or slug the person. This is were people try to say that ds unbreakable is a broken thing, but fail to realize that even though they can pick themselves up it takes time, and that time is wasted on the floor and not on a gen. This can also lead to 1 or maybe 2 survivors getting off their gens to go pick that person up (if there are not on a SWF, which is more common than you think). This buys you time to go after another survivor because people are not working on gens for a certain peroid of time. SWF is a completely different story, but I'm just talking about in general because SWF are not as common as killers think, and most people know that it's broken.

So in the end yes DS is strong, but has counterplay to it, so please stop complaining about it. So now to rap this discussion up please can people just play both sides to get a better understanding to the game and what makes some people angry on the certain side.

If you read through this all, holy ######### what are you doing with your life, jk, but thanks and please leave comments on your thoughts without being bias pls. I hope you guys have a great rest of your day.

  • A lot of people only play one side. So the bias will probably never go away.

  • people can't help but be biased, its from their personal experience and even i am biased to a slight degree because i play a very good amount of killer compared to survivor. for stats im around 1800 hours, 800 escapes, and 7500 kills so i know the game pretty well and can look at it from a 1v4 perspective more so than someone who only plays one side or has few hours.

the argument on deathslinger is a personal experience one, as an individual going against a deathslinger feels unfair because of he is good at 1v1's but thats it. against a team who splits the gens he struggles because he is slow. slower than normal because he has to constantly reload. so for people playing deathslinger they say he is fine because they personally understand his weakness and how powerless he is at stopping gens that are across the map but the survivors going against him they only look at the interaction between them and deathslinger not the bigger picture like they are supposed to.

DS is fine but when it is combined with unbreakable its a problem that should be addressed that might be me being biassed but thats what happens when you understand how it puts you in a no win situation when going against that because you can't punish the survivor. you say that we waste their time but in reality the killer is also wasting time having to go after that survivor who is probably on a gen.

people just can't help but be biased even the ones who say they aren't are in fact biased to a slight degree. to me it seems like you are biased to survivors for saying how the DS+UB combo is ok because you can ignore them when in reality you can't just let that survivor do whatever they want because that is literally a minute of immunity for them to do gens. again i do believe DS is fine by itself just not with UB.
