Other games that have been around longer start to release their oldest content as Free when new content releases after a certain point. The problem with BHVR is they are constantly relying on licensed-killers to keep players interested because they don't have the time or want to put forth the effort or don't have the creative ability to create content themselves -- and so they rack up licensing fees that they need constant sales to make payment on.

However they have already released some of their older content free in many forms, huntress and nurse both original content were given free, and 3 of their older dlcs, flesh and mud, spark of madness, and curtain call are usually included in bundles with the game even if the game is on discount.

I think it's a little bit of a stretch to compare this game to the Sims.
You should call them MACRO-transactions because that's what they are. There's nothing "micro" about buying a skin for $10.
