Also, not my image I just got a similar spawn and didn't screenshot cause I'm stupid.
This image describes what happened to the totem.
Most totems befriend a wall, stack of tires, sometimes even a tree.
But you see, this totem was just too edgy to make any friends.
And so it stands empty and alone, in the cold dark fields.
The Devs thought that that was okay. Some totems were "hidden," as in slightly less visible than that, to add to the whole risk-reward idea about Hex perks.
Of course, most Hex perks suck, and things like that make the rest of them just as bad.

Tbh I sometimes find it easier to protect the totems in the open than those hidden behind/around items. I've had so many teams throw themselves at open totems and down them all on top of it
Sheesh, I’m surprised Clown didn’t jus cleanse that one himself an move on with his circusing, srsly tho🤓
It’d be cool if devs allowed killers AND survivors to relocate the totems to a properly secluded locale, for more secure hiding/ more private cleansing purposes. Or out in the open if they felt like having a nice family reunion.
Jus pick the totem up an place it wherever one pleases... that seems fair.
That's the ultimate cursed totem spawn. Unlucky.
How is this totem still in the game?
Just run Haunted Grounds - that is a delicious piece of candy for survivors then.
But seriously totems like that occasionally last longer than you would think on Crotus if it isn't directly next to a gen. People go hunting in every nook and cranny then find it like 3 minutes later
