Suggestion for the bloodpoint cap.

In the Q&A they said the bloodpoint cap exists so we can't max out new content day one, so we'll play it instead.

Putting aside that that's utter nonsense as most people put points into the new characters to have a functioning build before they play them anyway, they also said it sucks when you get points over the cap and they're lost.

How about the cap has a 1 match overflow? Simply put, any points you gain OVER the cap are kept and you can spend them but only until you start a new match, at which point they're lost.

Say you're on 999,999 points, and you play a match and get 50,000 points. When you come out of that match you would have 1,000,000 points and 49,999 overflow. You would be able to spend those 49,999 points at any point until you start a new match, at which point they would be lost and you would be reset to 1,000,000 until the end of the match when the new match's points become overflow.

This would essentially keep the 1mil cap, but prevent the unnecessary loss of points due to unexpected uses of BPS/Cakes, and make it more enjoyable all round.

  • Better yet, just ditch the archaic belief of "not playing content if you didn't have a cap" because it is complete bull for a game like this. Just a relic of the times when this game had an idea in mind for it before it mutated in some disease-ridden abomination of a 'grindfest' masquerading as a 'party' game. Especially when most people that really want to, cap to 1 million then complete tome challenges - and not turn them in, waiting until new content is released and then turning them in after they spend their 1 million bank, to generate another 1 million and effectively "max out" new content day one.

Honestly if their goal was to really stop people from maxing a new killer or survivor on day one of its release, the much more effective way would be to time-gate their leveling... week 1 max level 20; week 2, 35; week 3, 40; week 4, 50; week 5 - no cap. But you know, people would HATE that. Even worse - when a new chapter is being planned, alert players every week or couple of days - and drain blood point banks to 0 for new release. No bank, no power-leveling of any new DLC content. No time spent sitting there on mounds of bloodpoints not spending them on anyone because you want to "Save" them for the next DLC (my friend does this -_-, literally day in and out doing dailies for bloodpoints just to sit there. like... just level your other people... they're all sitting at 50 because you refuse to reset them because you'll "lose everything" and have to re-gain everything.... that's the point of the Snooze-Fest Grind).

Honestly, that second option (bank drain) really doesn't seem that bad in practice, other than only pissing off players hoarding bloodpoints to do exactly what we're talking about - powerlevel killers and survivors so they have tons of perk options immediately available instead of having to play them like a new player (which I guess hurts people's ego? I don't see the issue with playing something new from scratch, but oh well).

The Devs should have zero reason to dictate how people play the DLC -- they already got their money when it was purchased. Why does it matter if people only wanted it to power-level and unlock the perks immediately for other killers and survivors they actually care about? The perks are still seeing play. Maybe the new killers or survivors are just extremely boring or bland to play? Shouldn't have to force players to play sub-par DLC just because you limit their ability to level with stored points.

  • As i heard on steam forums, they made 1kk bloodcap because of cheaters. Before EAC It was a plague of guys cheating bloodpoints and legacy skins that were available in the first year (or two) of DbD.

Honestly if EAC is working, then 1kk bloodpoints limit is unnecessary because any cheater will get caught anyway. And that argument of maxing newest DLC content on day 1 is pile of garbage. What it will change that we get to TIII lvl50 in 30min of going through bloodweb? Literally nothing. People would like to play new content with preferably all perks available - not wait week, or two or even more to get to T3 because we have some archaic bloodcap.

    I will also quote arcnkd:

"The Devs should have zero reason to dictate how people play the DLC -- they already got their money when it was purchased. "Fun" mechanic like that makes ppl repelled from DbD on top of an existing bugs and issues. If devs would listen to community -people- that can grind 100h in game in a week because they like it and have enough time to do that, instead of some "testers" that play DbD casually 40h a week because they pay them for that - that would be nice.

I would go for removing bloodcap. If EAC is working then no fear about cheaters and making game a bit better in this part, won't make them unhappy and force them to play other very populated asymmetric horror games. OR MAYBE?!
