Breakable Door Idea
Something I thought would be an interesting feature, especially for a possible Resident Evil map.
Survivors can open and close the doors. Holding shift opens/closes faster but makes a loud noise notification. Survivors and Killers can move freely through the door while it's open.
Killers can break a closed door, similar to a breakable wall. Killers are not stunned if they are hit by a closing door.
Essentially it's a cross between a breakable wall and a pallet. Survivors can leave it open for faster escapes and close it while running away or leave it closed so killers have to break it before they can reach the survivors on a gen. Harpoons and hatches would be unable to go through a closed door, unlike dropping a pallet.

sounds just like a pallet but in a different plane (y instead of z). I might be wrong, but I think a main reason for the implementation of the stun mechanic was (alongside giving survivors who are in extreme peril a little extra help) to prevent sliding of killers and animations looking strange when a pallet replaces the spot where a killer once was. Your door idea brings that issue back; what would you do to solve that?
Kinda like a pallet, except the survivors can open it after closing it and it would be safer against ranged killers.
The lack of stun is to balance out it's ability to be reopened, so as not to get the killer stun locked and to give it a different flavour. In an actual gameplay scenario the killer is unlikely to be just standing in the door so letting that look odd is fine. The sliding effect of moving the killer out of the door's way is something that's always going to happen but playing a walking animation should make it look better from a survivor's screen. The killer's screen is slightly more awkward but it should be a short weird moment.
