The reason people are upset about PH cage changes.

Let's get this straight, crossing the whole map to tunell someone who's going to loop you for at least 30 more seconds isn't really a good strategy at high ranks, as gens will be flying like crazy.

The problem comes down to medium/low ranks, where survivors aren't so efficient at gens, allowing PH to tunell unpunished.

Now, if that warrants the nerf or not is up for debate, but knowing that the devs tend to use low level players for balancing benchmark, we all know this change was bound to happen.

I think it's a ok change and doesn't really bother me, but I believe I understand why some people are so upset.

It stems from the double standards displayed by the devs throughout the years.

Recently, there been a rise on OoO, which is a perk that has been plaguing the game ever since it's inception. And now, with the new Haddonfield on steroids new map, it has once again shown why it's so broken.

Thus, we have a completely unhealthy perk breaking the game for ages, while a new killer mechanic (which can also be abused in an unhealthy way) gets fixed within 2-3 weeks.

To sum up, despite how well handled a change might be, people will still be upset for as long as the devs let old broken perks go unchanged, promoting a double standards behavior (pun intended).

  • I agree that both nerds to cages wasnt needed. One or the other should have been good enough to counter camping/tunneling.

But OoO isnt that much of a problem anyway. It can even help the Killer. Not in knowing where that Survivor is, but in knowing that Survivor isnt likely to do much that game.

Odds are a OoO user will avoid the Killer as much as possible. That means they will only do far off gens. Giving you a 3/4 gen setup. It also means they are likely to run sooner rather than later, and not be working on gens doing so. Giving a Killer more time to hunt other Survivors. On top of that it gives a Killer Whispers for the OoO user. If you dont see the aura, then they are close.

OoO only becomes a problem if the Killer chooses to take its bait. It almost turns the game into a 3v1 when you think about it.
