Improvements for New players suggestions
This here is a thread where we can brainstorm on improvements to the game that will benift new players and help them get to a skill and knowledge level of regular players
When thinking of these suggestions ,they should hopefully help explain mechanics and strategies while giving little to no power within a match
Here are some of my suggestions
1. Vastly expanding the tutorial to include unexplained mechanics like flashlights ,slow medium and fast vaults. Adding a unique tutorial for each killer that comes out will let them understand the power in a comfortable place. They can also add more bloodpoint rewards to put them on a level playing field
2. Putting a prompt that brings you to your bloodweb and load ,as many first player go into games without equipting anything
3. Rename Custom games into Private games and let players load in by themselves ,so that they can practice any area that they whatever they choose to
4. Unlockable statistic descriptions
Some perks and items still use slightly/moderately/tremendously and players won't know these exact numbers without a wiki ,however showing these numbers to new players may have them underestimate/ overestimate the item .
If these exact numbers are shown after using the item/perk 5 times it will let players get a feel for it and then give them the info after they have playtime with it
5. Loading tips
There are so few loading tips in this game and they are a perfect place to give little tidbits or info about absolutely anything including,
Maps and their main structure
Items/ add-ons and their descriptions
Perks and their descriptions
6. You are facing this killer but for perks
Right now if you are facing a killer for the first time you will get a loading screen tip for that killer ,I suggest we do the same for perks.
Every time you face a perk for the first time (limited to 1 perk a match) .The first tip you get will say you are facing or allied with this perk and then show the description and icon.
I realize this will show a killer/ survivors perk before the game starts but this can only occur once per perk and will mostly happen in low ranks where it won't have a huge effect.
This will help both sides and will be especially helpful for perks that don't give a indication to the opposing side (Mad grit, resillince)
For killers :it will show a perk they are about to face and will help them understand what survivors can possibly do
For survivors : it will show them what perks a killer could have in the future and what their fellow teammates could possible have
7. Interactive queue simulator
Right now when waiting for a match you can only set your loadouts or cosmetics or do your bloodweb ,with 10 minute queues this a massive wasted opportunity .
They could show the new improvement tip selection.
Or for a bigger idea, they could make the campfire its own randomly generated map using tiles from all maps and have the menus be interacble objects
This would allow killers and survivors to become familiar with movement and tiles
8. Removal or Perk rarity
Right now when a perk is at tier 3 it will either be rare(green) or very rare(purple) these tiers don't mean that very rare perks are better and only serves to confuse players and make finding perks harder.
Instead every perk should be common (brown) in the bloodweb and when purchased you gain the ability to set the perks rarity ,letting players grade and sort their own perks.
9. Teachable perks
Right now I see two problems with teachables ,the first is when you look at a characters portrait is shows their perks in tier 1 instead of tier 3 ,this can mislead players away from perks that they could like.
The second is the high level requirement of 30/35/40 this only serves to gatekeep players with lower play time.
10. Common perks
The perks that are available for all characters from the start of the games are some of the most underpowered (this is not happening , monsterous shrine) which leaves new player with lesser perks to start of with
The common perks should be the first to be looked at and buffed/reworked considering that 100% of players own them.
11. Incentive spectating others
Right now the only way to learn new things in dbd is to learn it in a tutorial , figure it out ,learn it from other players or from outside sources ,however casual and new players don't watch videos .
Players can learn from each other with aura reading perks ,but those are locked behind teachables or they can spectate other players but have little reason to do so
If we were to give a bloodpoint drip of say 10 per second it would let them feel comfortable watching experienced players who don't crouch around the map
12. Auto recover
Right now when a survivor is downed the have three options
A) Stay still and recover
B) Crawl away
C) Lie there and do nothing
Unfortunately newer player choose option C unknowingly .
If recovering was automatic then player would have the choice to crawl or recover and couldn't make the rank 20 mistake of sitting there
Please post below any ideas that you have or any criticism of any ideas posted and make sure to vote up any ideas you agree with!

I just think they need to focus on the grind. As someone with thousands of hours and every killer P3 with all perks, the grind just gets more and more unbearable with each new chapter. Level up new killer to get all the perks, then go through and get the 3 new perks on each previous killer. Still not even touching the new survivor yet. I could not imagine being new and jumping into this game and looking up at the mountain of grind that awaits.
