fps drops on Midwich Elementary School & it is a complete survivor sided map

Hello,

don´t get me wrong but in my opinion this map is complete survivor sided and i also have fps drops with every killer when i play on this map. What do you think aboutthis map ?

  • It is not about win or loss cause i play both killer and survivor. I feel this map is very bad designed and the frustration for killers is to much and to high. Its the same like Haddonfield and theres a reason why the survivor escape rate on haddenfield is higher. Also no breathing no injured sounds...no footsteps on this map...it is very hard for killers and bad for the game experience. The devs must do something.

  • i agree with u, this is the most broken map in dbd right now. the only killers who can actually play on this garbage map are only high mobile killers.

  • I think it’s fine. And I play both sides.

  • As a killer main who also plays survivor, I have to disagree, I think the map is way more killers sided and I think it has to do with the shape of the school being a square. its hard to explain without drawing it but I'll try my best.

so. first things first how many god pallets are there compared to unsafe pallets. off of the top of my head there are at least three pallets in the school that the killer cannot mind game at. One at each stair well, and then one at one of the exit gates as the loop is long enough that its similar to the pig tree loop that can be found in the cornfield maps.

as for unsafe pallets, most of the pallets in this map are unsafe or downright dangerous to use because you loop is ruined once the pallets down. This is where my square argument comes in. the map is basically shaped like a hollow square. there is a square courtyard in the dead center of the map and then the school is built around it in a square shape as well. it has long hallways and then long rectangular rooms that loop into each other. this is where the unsafeness comes from. due to the size of the map the rooms can only be so big, most of them only have one tile to loop in each major room and the tile is a specially made tile that is closer to being a square than a rectangle like most loops are in other maps if you don't count jungle gyms. This means to make really strong loops you have to learn when to move into the next room as part of the loop or else you will lose early. The problem is though is that since its inside a building you are restricted on paths you can take to leave a tile. for example on the cornfield maps you basically have 360 degrees of movement you can use to leave a tile to get to the next one. on Midwhich you have 2 maybe 3 ways you can leave. some rooms are really dangerous as they only have one way in and out making looping those specific rooms a bad choice.

The only drawback the map has efffects both sides, getting from the first floor to the second floor. there are only 3 ways to get up to the second floor in the entire map, 2 stairwells, and then one room that has a busted floor making a ramp. However this means you can also make a nasty 4 gen if you leave all generators on the bottom floor for the survivors to get, then you essentially cut the map in half with only three ways for people to get to the part of the map they need to be in. Midwich isnt bad it just needs more planning than others. I would even argue its a more balanced version of Hawkins as Hawkins is a massive map that's really narrow making for impossible 3 gen situations.
