Description of characters is obsolete

Hello,

I think, that some description of killers and survival are obsolete. Is Freddy still hard after his huge change? One of the most simple killer for 4k (i would say overpowerd) is hard? Bill Overback is hard? Maybe he was, but than his perk changes. Ash is easy? Maybe before mettle of man was changed...

Also some "heads" and previews are old. This game has change a lot, but something got stuck 2 year ago.

The difficulty isn't based on wins, it's based on the gameplay.

Basically, the difficulty is based on how simple they are to use. So where trapper is a great killer for new players, Freddy isn't.

    debatable

Freddy is an extremly simple and easy to use killer.

He places traps that slow people and can teleport to generators. The only thing remotely complex about him is the the fact that teleport cooldown changes with number of asleep survivors and awake survivors dont trigger traps. He definatly doesn't deserve to be rated hard. He should be max medium if not easy.

  • Hard could be Hag or Nurse for example. But definetelly not Freddy. And this isnt only example. More killers or survivals should be changed. David King, Ash, Bill...

But if he should be medium then who would be hard? From the top of my head he's IS the most complex killer. He teleports to generators, puts people to sleep, and can have blood snares or fake pallets. I can't think of any other killer that has more than 2 abilities.

Nurse and spirit are infinitely harder to play and understand than freddy.

Freddy is an easy killer to play. To be 100% honest trapper is probably harder for new players because the limitations of trapper's power means that he has to think about and be careful with his trap placement, something freddy doesn't have to do.

Yeah but the difficulty isn't entirely based on how easy it is to kill, otherwise Spirit would be 'easy' and not 'hard'. Trapper is very straight forward, you go around and place traps and thats it lol, so because of that he's easy to understand. I'm not saying Freddy is hard to understand, but he is complex. Nurse is straight forward but she's hard to get a grip on and takes a long time to master so I get why she's 'hard'. Huntress is intermediate because although she's simple to understand you gotta have a good aim and that can take time to get the hang of.

    So is freddy.

You hold m2 to put trap on floor.

You hold cntrl to go to generator.

He should be intermediate at most

  • Honestly, the difficulty ratings are deeply unimportant anyway unless you are brand new and overwhelmed with who/what to start with (which in my opinion should always be with one of the original 4 survivors and/or 3 killers of DbD).

I agree that these ratings are deeply outdated and don't really mean much, especially not for survivors. Based on personal perks, David is probably the only "hard" survivor because We're Gonna Live Forever doesn't actually do anything (just a BP bonus) and No Mither is an active handicap to yourself. Whereas Kate's perk set seems to have been custom-built to help out new survivors.

Though I doubt it's an easy task to actually rate the difficulty of the characters. For example, should Clown be easy because he's super straightforward to learn (and comes with Pop Goes the Weasel) or hard because his power is really weak and he has to be played really well to make up the difference? Should Laurie be easy because DS and OoO are both extremely powerful perks, or hard because screwing up with them will get you sacrificed faster? Should survivors even have these ratings at all when they can all essentially become different 'skins' of the same character?

Or is this even something that the Devs should commit time to when there's more content to make, and maps, perks, and powers to adjust?
