Why do Surv icons blink sometimes?

Just a quick question:

You know those 4 white heads of the survivors?

Why do some of them go on and off sometimes during a match?

    If the survivor changes state from injured to healthy or the survivor becomes the obsession than their head goes white. This also happens if the obsession starts a chase.
