Single use survivor perks balancing
I'm not a killer main, but have seen lots of them questioning the use of survivors perk combos that may lead to frustration. DS + unbreakable is an example feels cheap to use and a drag to play against. You either get stunned, or the survivor gets up. If a survivor use one, they still have the other. These perks are game changing by themselves and I've been thinking in a way to try to make their use more fair.
Make these strong perks share a single use per match. Give each survivor a second chance token per match that is consumed by these perks. The survivor can allocate both if they want to keep the versatility. If they use one, the token is consumed and the other perk cannot be used in the same match. Somewhat similar to exhaustion perks sharing CD. This could possibly allow the development of other powerful perks, not necessarily second chance ones, that would consume the token.
Even other second chance perks could be candidates for reworks to make them more in-line in strength. Ex: Deliverance start the trial active (no unhook a teammate requirement), Mettle of Man could activate while taking any protection hit, Adrenaline could not cause exhaustion. Since these all share a single use per match, you can avoid the ridiculous stacking of powerful situational perks that save you from every situation. If the survivor wants to stack them, they can, but only the one is used. A trade-off for the versatility.
On the other side, the killer would have some enabled counter play. Did the survivor kobed/recovered from dying/stabbed you/Heal after last Gen/Survived a lethal attack while protecting someone? Well, they can do nothing of the above or repeat the feat again, their second chance token was used for the match. A possibility to make it even more visible to the killer is to have an indicator of the second wind token in the HUD.
Any ideas?
