Also camping the special gens makes tactical sense as they are a special objective for the survivors . Saboing just special hooks is dumb though.
Camping the special gens is just being an ######### though. You sound like a really typical killer main (no offense) by saying it is stupid for them to sabo only special hooks to stop you from getting your objective but it isn't for you to camp their gens and stop them from getting their objective. We should let each other get the objectives if they are skilled enough. Sure you should put pressure on them, but commit to a chase and don't prioritze the gens when you need the hooks. Camping the gen gets you no where against good survivors because they will just do a different one and suprise, you lost the game

"Gen camping" (which isn't a real thing, by the way) is simply the way Killers play all the time, events or no. The Survivors' objective is to repair generators, so Killers search generators and defend generators if they want.
On the other hand, sabotaging hooks is rare enough that it's a nearly extinct style of gameplay, and only comes out/spikes during events where Killers have to hook Survivors to participate in the event.
Can you explain to me how you can camp special gens?
Camping requires you to stay in a single space, but the gens are spread all over the map.
But yeah, toxicity is always high during such events, especially in the first few days
When I see the Survs have no chance (6 hooks and 5 gens left maybe) I also waited on a hill to let the survs finish two or three event gens. after that i catched them and hooked them - everyone was happy.
But I also catched a surv that sabotaged my event hook without any reason. at the beginning of the match. I did not camp gens, i just walked around. So he made that mistake. He couldnt realize how fast he was out of the game. His mates always unhooked him right behind me so i could tunnel him. I never tunnel, but in THAT case he deserved it. There were just 2 BBQ offerings dropped, he could sabotage any other hook for a daily or something, but he just wanted to disarm my bbq offering and my event points. so its an attack on the player, not on the charackter that is played imho. However, the game was over for that guy.
I never said anything about hooks( you can say it also makes sense to sabo them to save a teammate or similar).
