How to stop someone from just hook camping on Bubba (IN MY OPINION)

This is just a couple of suggestions i have that could stop players like this ^^^^^^^ from existing.

  1. Make survivors able to hook save from any hook. I know what your thinking but hear me out, when someone gets hooked make the entity take them or something but can be recovered from any hook, i know it takes the "realism" out of the game a little but lets be honest most of the game is unrealistic anyways and it would force the killer to actually do something else rather then just sitting on the person that's hooked.
  2. Most people won't agree with me on this one but from the kinda games ive been playing NOED is a crazy strong perk which will give you at least one kill no matter how trash you played throughout the game and it pretty much disrespects killers who need to do certain things to earn those one shots like Myers or Ghost Face, people will argue ohhh all you need to do it just cleanse all the totems but like unless you watch a video or study every single totem spawn you'll likely never get every single totem in a map and if you do while NOED is active its a death sentence. I really feel it needs some sort of change but i don't fully know how it can be so please leave some suggestions on that if you have any in the comments.

I really enjoy DBD for the most part i think its a really fun game but these are just think I THINK should be changed/reworked feel free to speak how you feel about anything of what i said. 😀

  • As someone who's r1 on both sides:

    1. Camping is a legitimate tactic which doesn't occur much at high ranks. Yes the people who do it are douches, but it almost guarantees your teams escape.

    2. My problem here is you've literally just named an option on how to learn to counter it, but instead you've decided it needs a nerf. It does need a small nerf, but try and learn totem spots.

I understand, but just thinking about low ranks who run into these types of people who abuse it i can imagine not having a good time. also i will try and learn totem spots and encourage other too as well thanks for your feedback. :)

  • Being able to hook save from any hook would be a disastrous change that'd tilt the game's balance WAY too much towards Survivors.

As a Killer, your #1 resource is time. One of the reasons why hooking Survivors is so important is because it buys you time. If you hook a Survivor, they can't repair gens, and at least one of their teammates is going to stop doing gens to go save them. That is VITAL for killers and without that delay Killers get out of hooking Survivors, they'd essentially be incapable of killing anyone unless they tunnelled the absolute bejeezus out of them or brought a mori.

It'd also have a variety of other effects, like causing Make Your Choice to become less viable by giving Survivors too much counterplay, depriving Killers of leads when an unhook happens, making already strong Killers with high map pressure/mobility like Hillbilly stronger, and making basement hooks essentially worthless.

Aside from that, I can agree NOED isn't a healthy skill in its current state and could very much use changes. I think my biggest problem with its current state is that cleansing every Totem is how you stop it from going off, but cleansing every Totem on the map especially when they're all Dull is vastly unreasonable. (note; I'm aware NOED is intended to incentivise Survivors to cleanse Dull totems just in case, but in practice it's actually better for survivors to NOT cleanse Dull totems in case of NOED, but instead memorise their locations and return to them later at the end of the match if NOED is revealed)

IMO a better way to handle NOED would be it starts as a Hex totem like a normal Hex perk. However, if the Survivors cleanse it, it "bounces" to another Dull Totem to make it its new Hex Totem, BUT informs the entire Survivor team with a popup for Hex: No One Escapes Death, and the Hex would bounce something like twice before the Survivors could cleanse it permanently. (or if you stack a bunch of Hexes for some reason, if it runs out of Dull Totems)

This'd create a Devour Hope-esque "oh #########, we HAVE to cleanse totems or we're screwed" effect that still benefits the Killer and gets some value out of the Perk, but means that if Survivors get hit with NOED, it actually means they likely didn't explore the map enough and are being more justifiably punished with the Exposed status.

A very thought out response, i was just suggesting the multi hook save thing so the killer does not ensure a kill from just sitting in one place, maybe some sort of other system would make more sense for sure then the one i brought up, but im glad you somewhat agree on the NOED argument, the devs really should make a new system for that or at least one that makes more sense. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
