New actual viable buff and unique idea for insidious! : Entity cloaks presence outside of 32m!
Outside of 40/36/32m you become completely invisible to survivors, And any sounds you make are not heard. Note : does not grant undetectable, hide killer notifications, nor hide your terror radius if it is larger or your aura.
Billy + tinkerer and perhaps silencing addons - whirlwind of death you don't hear until he's right on top of you.
Nurse = no crys as she comes screaming towards you
Micheal = stealths around on large maps unseen from a distance, before being revealed by the entity
Spirit = her prayer beads addon wouldn't reveal shes in phase until within 32m of you. an interesting but not op change.
Trapper = people not seeing you place traps in the distance
Wraith = completely invisible outside of 32m allowing easier sneaks, and bone clapper becomes weirdly good as it doesn't reveal your nearby yet if survivors are not paying attention you could get free hits as they might think your further away.
Killers this might become a problem on -
Huntress = being unseen outside of 32m might be a problem despite her lullaby announcing her at 40m. (Could expand it to base terror radius/lullaby distance if the killers is naturally larger?)
Comments
If it would simply deny aura reading, if the survivor is not in the terror radius it would be good. Finally a counterpart to OoO.
i would just make it suppress the killers terro radius for x amount of seconds after a hook it would promote the killer to leave the hook to catch a survivor off guard but once the survivors know they have the perk they will prepare themselves like with bbq
So would you mean that the killer is undetectable for anyone outside of 40/36/32m and none of their sounds would play? Or maybe it gives the Oblivious status effect to survivors outside of that range? I know you said no undetectable, but I think your idea would really benefit from something like that. Otherwise I really like your idea, it would be a fun but niche perk to play with like dark devotion.
yeah haha, i really enjoy dark devotion personally
