Sabotaging Is Now Viable; How To Counter

Another tool in the Survivor's arsenal, one that was rarely used because it was extremely weak and took too long to pull off.

Now that a survivor is rewarded with being coordinated, what do new killers do? They complain. They think they're entitled to a hook because they downed a survivor.

Yes, gen pressure is a problem with Survivors, but if you think reverting Sabotage back to its original state is going to help you, you're not gonna get better.

You want a good perk to counter the new Sabo? STBFL or Agitation. I prefer Agitation, as the perk is extremely underrated. It shaves off time transporting survivors to a hook, and it allows you to beat most survivors who are not already prepared to a hook. Agitation at full rarity makes you slightly faster than survivors, meaning not only do you have the potential to beat them to a hook, you can punish survivors being cheeky and trying to bait out swings to slow you down, and get injuries going. Often times, with Agitation, I found myself trading hooks off, or getting a hook and a slug.

Run Agitation. IMO, its worth the perk slot. Stop making forum posts just because sabotage is now a viable tactic.

  • We 'complain' because we see how it's going to be abused. Killers are already on a time crunch, negating an entire chase in the time it takes to pick up a survivor is just silly.

I'm not saying it'll happen every match, but it's just something else we have to worry about, on top of how fast gens go. At least with the old sabo, survivors had to take time out of their gen rushing to actually get hooks to 99. Now, they don't need to.

  • The thing is, you now borderline have to run Agitation because Survivors could have the intention of sabotaging hooks, it's another possibility you have to play around or be heavily punished.

It's also another way to bully newer players since the tutorial does not explain slugging.

I truly do not understand how people are happy that now Killers have one more reason to slug and run slugging perks such has Knockout. I just wish I had that unlocked because I feel like I would like it in this period of time.

I'm just waiting for patch notes, they said 2.5s might have been too fast IIRC, but I'm still very scared.

NONE OF THIS MATTERS BECAUSE THERE ARE STILL GENS POPPING AS YOU'RE LUMBERING YOUR HEFTY BODY OVER TO THE HOOK, THE GAMES ARE TOO FAST FOR YET ANOTHER KILLER OBSTACLE!!!

  • I mean, imo if they sabo in your face the entire time so you cant hook, if you can just slug them all and leave them slugged until they die OR just stand in the basement, if they dont want a real match then fine, no match.

  • Just use "Infectious Fright". It`s better than "Agitation". You can see all survivors in your terror radius after you knock down someone.

    "Unbreakable".

  • Not a problem I would say, someone gets up? chase is on, down and move on.

Cool....except the fact that it counters the very thing you're trying to do, which is slug. Competent survivors are going to milk it. Only rank 20's don't understand how it works.

its literally a 1 time option.... and you have to have multiple have it for it to even be a slight problem...AND I did say "IF YOU CAN just slug them all"

If they all unbreakable and that is too much for you, then default to the second option.

  • The way sabotage is now is not its original state. This is what Sabo was after it got gutted because leaving it the way it originally was just made life even more hellish as more and more survivor tools were added to the game. What we saw on the ptb is even more brutal than the original sabotage, which at least required some prior planning to drop a hook in a killer's face. But hey, everyone's enjoying their queues right now, right?

  • Nah, sabotages are nothing. If survs gonna abuse it in one of the 100 matches then fine, i'll abuse slugging. They have unbreakable? Fine, its only 1 free self-heal from downed state, i can work with that as they still will be 1-hit kill. Hah, if it gonna happens more often than not... then i guess its just gonna be a time to back to my good old leatherface. He works fine when survs starts to abuse "weapon cleaning" animation (it was when you hooked someone, 1 person goes for unhook and other 2 bodyblock you so you have to do 3 hits at least to get to the one on hook), if they tried it, that was just a free game pass for me, and same gonna be here xD.

Its not fun? Maybe. But its my heavy gun, when you gonna piss me off by abusing mechanics i will do exacly the same and this way you create a monster that you cannot beat :)

actually, original original sabo meant survivors could literally destroy all hooks forever soooo its not quite THAT bad.

  • I suppose it's a wash really. Hooks permad vs. hooks dropped within the swing recovery time. At least we have a bandaid perk that solves the former... not a thing you can do about he second (until the NEXT next chapter, where they add a perk that slows down survivor' s breaking time). There's always a chance devs make the time frame something reasonable since ptb, but I doubt it'll be far enough.
