what happens if i buy a dlc already having the characters?

I never tested it anymore I think it would make sense to have a discount or even win the dlc for free if you have both characters just to make the profile of steam a little cuter.

    Each DLC has exclusive Cosmetics for one of the Characters. The older DLCs like Hag- or Doctor-DLC come with a complete different Outfit for Feng and Ace.

    Later, this changed to only one Cosmetic Piece with minor differences (really, just the Color of the Top is a little bit different).

    So if you own those Characters, because you bought them via Shards, you dont get those Exclusives, those are for the people who paid actual money on the DLCs. When you buy the DLC you get access to those Cosmetics.

    It wouldn't be free because buying the chapter gives you an executive cosmetic for the survivor.

    Buying a character early through the shop is just that, and "early access".

    It's entirely optional to buy the DLC after, but you won't be re-compensated for the lost Auric Cells/Shards or be given a discount to the DLC. I don't see why you would anyways... if you have both characters unlocked than you're just buying the DLC for the exclusive cosmetics.

    You could argue "If that's the case why shouldn't it be discounted?" well, that's because buying them early in the shop was your choice, so I don't see why they should be discounted as a result for buying the DLC later. It would be cool if this happened, but there's a reason why it doesn't, the same goes for expecting a "refund" for buying the characters with Cells/Shards, it just doesn't work that way.
