Unique Gen Pressure Mechanics
I think it would be neat to shake up generators a bit with unique forms of generator pressure for each killer.
These are forms of "kicking" gens but they take a bit longer to pull off.
This is reserved for killers who require a lot of set up or are just lacking gen pressure in general. Strong killers on their own right, like Billy or Hunteress or Nurse, I will be ignoring or giving a lesser mechanic to.
I think each killer interacting with generators in a unique way would make it more fun to go against each killer and make their interactions more unique, and has the gens directly involving their powers.
THE DOCTOR
When interacting with a generator, the Doctor has the option to charge a shock in his hands for 4 seconds and zap the generator, starting it's regression. The generator will produce static shocks from it's core for as long as it's regressing.
For the amount it's regressed, after a survivor interacts with the generator inflicted, any failed skill checks will shock them for half a tier of madness. This occurs until the amount regressed returns to it's original status.
If the Doctor uses his Static Blast or Static Shock on the generator, it will burst with static for three meters, which inflicted an additional tier of madness.
THE TRAPPER
The Trapper keeps a special electric trap on hand which he can connect to a generator for a set up of 5 seconds. Instead of a pressure plate, it activates on the generator itself via a wire. The trap cannot be disarmed. Arming this trap begins gen regression.
Two requirements must be met for this trap to activate:
- A survivor must be standing on top of it.
- Any survivor working on the gen must miss a skill check, hit a great skill check, or complete the generator.
- While the trap is active, it saps electricity from the generator, decreasing repair speed by 2% per survivor.
Trapper can only cover one side of a generator with the trap, and can only have one gen trap per gen. If the trap is used, the Trapper can reset it like a normal trap with no additional time. This ability is mostly psychological, to discourage four people working on one gen, or pressuring gens that can't have more than a certain amount of people working on it.
THE HAG
While the Hag is in a good spot, I still think a power connecting to generators would make her more fun to play as and against.
The Hag can spend 6 seconds cursing a generator and drawing a symbol on it, beginning regression
Every time the generator's regression is stopped, the one who stopped the regression suffers 2% Hindered status effect while within 20 meters of that generator, while the Hag obtains 1% Haste while within 25 meters of that generator every time she hits the generator and begins it's regression again.
THE PIG
The Pig can spend 10 seconds rigging a generator with traps and obstacles, beginning it's regression.
This reduces the skill checks of affected generators by 65%. Whenever a skill check is failed, it increases gen regression from the failed check by 3%, and also activates any non-active RBTs. Any active RBTs will have their timer reduced by 15 seconds per failed check on that generator.
THE CLOWN
The Clown can use one Aftertonic Piece to pour a flammable liquid on a generator that is easily excited by work on it.
When a generator has been poured on, it will start regressing, and any missed or good skill check will cause the generator to explode with a noise notification. If a good skill check was hit, it will burst into flames with no regression for 5 seconds, being uninteractable for that duration. If it is missed, it will burst into flames with additional 5% regression, being uninteractable for 10 seconds.
Comments
I like these ideas.
Sounds like new mechanics and it would make the games more difficult or interesting. I have some ideas myself for this actually.
THE NIGHTMARE
Whenever Freddy teleports to the generator, it automatically starts to regress. Additionally when going up to a generator, Freddy can turn it into a bloody one, causing it to regress again and the Survivors scream once if they start to repair it in the Dream World, or whatever that blood puddle ability of Freddy is.
THE LEGION
The Legion could already kick the generator by default, but to spice things up, while in Feral Frenzy and attacking a generator (or otherwise sticking the knife into it), it will break it and it will start to regress slightly faster than usual. This is like an instant break, but the Feral Frenzy will reset since it will also count as a missed hit.
Freddy is already strong enough. I think his direct teleport to gens already acts as amazing gen pressure. Don't think he needs another gen pressure ability.
Stronger = Challenging.
I could say the same thing about the Doctor as some people really think he's too strong. In my opinion he's annoying and too many people play him nowadays. Pretty much I win every game as a Doctor, too. (Rank 11 on Killer, by the way.)
The Doctor can stall and work on chases.
He can't apply gen pressure except passively. He doesn't have an instadown like other M1 Killers. His addons does little except give more passives.
He may b above average with his rework but he's far from the strongest. Just more accessible. Which us good.
Freddy is fine. If it ain't broken, don't fix it.
