The assymetrical game that is assymetrical in its one assymetric system

I believe everyone feels like that in the beginning, when we are playing between ranks 20 and 15, the game feels killer sided. It is because the killer have a basic attack and a simple objective, hit the survivors twice and hook, whilst the survivors have to move around, find gens, discover the map, unhook the others, heal, open the gate and so on, and everything is a mess. On the other hand, in high ranks, the game is totally survivor sided, because the root of the game is survivors to win. You killer, do you think you are going to get someone? One of them has spine chill, the famous cat, so they will flee and the others with him or her. Do you see them? Spring burst. Oh, did you get a hit? Dead heard and a pallet or window escape. Did you hook one? No problem, if you are around (for it is very common to survivors do not wait you leave the area, they populate the surroundings of the hook and they even really want to you to become blind and deaf or other wise you are a camper), they have borrow time and the unhooked one will body block the unhooker. End of the game? Adrenaline. Instaheal, DS, rush gen (I don't know how, but my last games at least 3 gens were done in less than 75 seconds, even with one hooked and one being chased), flashligh savings, infinite loops, body blocking, flashiers click click, tea-bagging, grabs being completely broken to the survivor side (who did never grab a survivor, the animation starts and them the survivor just runs away? It happens ALL the time, poor spirit, though). In the end, IT IS NOT HEALTHY TO PLAY KILLER BEYOND RANK 8, BECAUSE THEY WILL BULLY THE ######### OUT OF YOU, AND THE GAME, THAT SUPPOSE TO BE FUNNY, IT BECOMES ANOTHER WAY TO GET STRESSED, UPSET, ANGRY, SAD... so, or you just drop the game, or do a derank, as I do - each time I feel that there a lot of tea-baggers and perks impossible to beat playing against survivor friends, I just lose some matches so it becomes playable again without the feeling of face camping disrespectful survivors.

One way to get things more symmetrical in its one asymmetric system, is to improve some things to the survivors, like the killer spawning in the killer shack or in the main building and away from the survivors, but always in the basement, no matter what. Do map training, where everyone can learn and try fast vaults, pallet times, flashsaving times and so on. A map training free to run on it would be the grace for most of the players to understand the perks and the logic of the movement the game is based on.

Nevertheless... It would be very nice if the combination of perks could be limited by types of perks, or at least reconfig the exhaustion perks somehow that the survivors did not exploit it to its root. Another important thing: as we cannot do anything about totems placement, why not try this: give 10 dull totems (4 or 6 or even 8 in the open, usually in front of the survivors in the beginning of the game, are completely wasted for the killer perks), and fire up the ones corresponding to the perks, and when it is cleansed (which could take more 10 seconds at least), it fires it self in another totem. Until it is out of totems. That would force the survivors to lose time doing totems and not doing gens, would slow down the game a little bit and the toolboxes would not help the survivors in that. Or just create a cleanse box, that would be a lot of fun.

Of course, fix the damn thing where the body of the survivor is out the exit and we cannot grab they. Even more, I can carry a survivor, but cannot pull its lags? C'mon! Retiring the red steam during a non chase situation would be nice as well. And slightly decreasing, by one second is fine, the time to recover from a hit, would be glorious.

Comments

  • What does any of this have to do with the title?

  • It is just to show that the game is not asymmetrical. It is unbalanced, be it for the beginners or for the veterans. When one side is just too powerful that only if it messes up the other one has a chance, and that sides changes not because it is asymmetrical, but because of perks and knowledge of the bugs and the weakness of the asymmetrical system, it is asymmetrical only in the evolution of the players, but not in the game per se.
