Balance matchmaking

so BHVR keeps wondering why there has been a major decrease in killer play. well lets walk back down memory road. well, it all started with the issues on match lobby times and how it was taking forever to get in a game for both sides. so they implemented a new system which allows people to be matched against others with higher ranks (at least by 11 ranks cause thats what im experiencing). so by all means, i dont blame BHVR, they had good intentions with it. but this is a 20 rank system, and making it so that you can be playing the upper 25% of players in the game from any rank. this might not be too much of an issue when youre already a high ranking killer and are able to maintain it (cause your paired against decent surv opponents) but when youre some r16 johnny scout going against a 4 r5 team of survivors with ultra rare percs and are most likely sfw and using mics to communicate, you dont stand a chance. so here you are, struggling to pip, much less keep the ones you have. so theres the issue, you cant ever get to a point where you can hold your own bc a) the game doesnt balance enough to give you a reasonable chance, or b) you cant ever pip to a level or play with those who are close to your level

its a positive correlation: lack of killers further increases the time needed for matches, the more time that is needed for matches, the more expanded the game lobbies have to become. the more expanded lobbies become, the harder it is for the killer to pip or even enjoy a match cause its too sweaty and started off as something that they cant compete in. if they cant compete in it or even have a shot at decently performing, theyre not going to play killer. which takes us back to where we started.

you cant fix this issue just by merely expanding the lobby limits. thats just kicking the can further down the road
