Getting hit dropping pallets

I seem to get hit often dropping pallets, is there something wrong with how I drop them whilst running past them?

Eg aim to run to stand in middle or one side when doing pallet, hit drop when you are under pallet, let go of run button when doing etc

I'm guessing it's hit boxes and timing but wondered if any of our dbd community had any tips on this

    You have to learn the timing & distance. If the killer already got too close to you, they are going to land a hit, even if you drop the pallet. That is intended.

    If the killer already got too close, don't drop/waste the pallet.
