The Ruin Change's Reasoning

"We saw that Hex:Ruin was used in a majority of Red Rank games, so we changed it to be less annoying to new survivors."

Uses data from top level play, makes changes for bottom level play.

  • I have come to expect nothing more than this from BHVR game designers.

  • balacing to acknowledge low level play isnt inherently a bad thing.

Doing so despite its impact on high level play, and not addressing any of the underlying issues that CAUSE it to be a concern at high level play, is.

If there was a way to make rank 1-20 happy on both sides, i would strongly encourage it. But ignoring a paradigm shift that exists across the player base in favor of the freshest recruits who might not even be retained, well... thats how you kill a game.

They have to overhaul the entire game if they even want to think about balancing for both low and high tier gameplay.

  • I have lost all faith in the devs. We are pretty much in a BIzarro World when it comes to this game. Logic has been thrown out the window. Ruin is overused in Red Ranks, lets balance around Brown Ranks. Their laser focus on "survivor fun" is incredibly destructive to the game itself.
