About David’s Perks “rewarding high-risk play“
We’re Gonna Live Forever: Gives you bonus Bloodpoints for risking your life for and/or farming a fellow Survivor, one of which is going to get you boned before you can utilize the Bloodpoint bonuses and the other of which encourages expending others for personal gain—the exact opposite of the Perk’s design and intentions.
Dead Hard: A small, measly dash that can only be used while injured and half the time doesn’t do the whole “avoid damage” thing or even activate at all due to latency. The one advantage it has of being activated whenever the user wants (while injured) and not when certain creiteria are met are outweighed by every other inferiority it has compared to every other Exhaustion Perk.
No Mither: Completely and utterly handicap yourself and, by extension, your entire team, in exchange for an ability that is fully nullified by the fact that the Killer knows you can utilize said ability, as well as synergy with five Perks, three of which are not very good (Dead Hard, Resilience, This Is Not Happening), and the other two of which are very niche and rarely worth an entire Perk slot (Unbreakable, Tenacity).
It is stated in David’s description that his Perks are designed to reward an “agressive and confrontational” playstyle as well as high-risk play. Well, WGLF is the only one that gives an actual reward, and it does NOT need to involve high-risk play nor any aggression or confrontation. Simply equpping No Mither is forcing yourself to engage in VERY risky plays but does not reward you in any way for it. It also STRONGLY discourages the offensive style of play that David is supposed to be a beast in. Dead Hard is just risky in and of itself because of latency issues and needing to be injured, but what is its reward? A couple of feet of distance between you and the Killer, maybe a meter or two at best, to get away from a swing. News flash, Sprint Burst puts a BARE MINIMUM of 4.2 meters between the Survivor and the Killer, assuming the Killer was chasing them when it activated and they have 115% speed, and doesn’t need to be held off until injury.
David’s Perks do not “reward” a high-risk playstyle. They force one upon you then slap you in the face and tell you to piss off.
