Hi, suggestions from a new player. (includes idea for your Matchmaking problem)
Hi there, i recently bought this game and i'm having a blast but i see some things this game needs a fixing for newer players, and maybe veterans.
suggestions:
**unhook problem when killer is close**
This is something thats done by noobs or by griefers, you could save everyone a big headache by adding a block button to the player on the hook so that when he/she hears a heardbeat and sees a fellow survivor is about to take him/her of, you can simply Block it.
**Griefing bodyblockers**
only seen it once, but can't you just make us run trough them if you run into them for 2 seconds straight?
**skill difference in matches**
there are manny ways to fix this, but here's my suggestion.
First of add a calibration system for survivors and killers that reset every few months, lets say 5-15 games per calibration, remove premade groups from rank or add the option for killers to be willing to fight premade groups (using voice chat) by clicking a checkbox. (Play Versus a premade party? yes/no).
These calibrations have to be done when looking for match solo since allot of premade survivor groups will do much beter compared to 4 solo survivors that are not using discord voice chat.
Not to mention they can boost there results
add roles to survivors: Runner, mechanic, support and add a separate rank for each.
This will create better efficiency for survivors.
add a rank for every killer, every survivor can do the same thing but every killer plays different.
**Matchmaking waiting time problem**
low rank killers have to wait 45 minutes, high rank survivors have the same problem. Probably your biggest problem with the game atm, here my suggestion:
Add a random role option:
if you allow the server to choose if your survivor or killer it will fix some if not all of the wait time. But what do they get in return?
They will be allowed to play any role, survivor or killer (whatever role has the most problem finding the match obviously)
and be placed in a priority position for a game (aka skipping the line)
This will stop people from waiting, and keep people playing.
Hope this feedback helps cuz i realy enjoy this game.
if you guys think any of this is a bad idea plz lemme know, its always better to have people criticize ideas so we can weed out the problems that may occur.
Thx in advance and best wishes for 2020 ;)

Welcome to the game, and thank you for your suggestions! I know that the devs always appreciate feedback from players on how to improve the game.
I'll try to address each of your ideas one by one to give them the attention they deserve.
Denying Unhooks
Being able to deny unhooks seems like a good idea on the surface, but it actually comes with a lot of problems of its own and would be highly abusable.
I've copied my own response from a different thread on the same topic into the spoiler tag below, if you'd like more details on my reasoning behind that.
Rescuing someone from a hook is a dangerous position to be in, and you could be completely screwed over if the killer is nearby by the hooked player deciding not to let you get the unhook for whatever reason - maybe they think it's unsafe, or maybe they're just salty for something you did earlier in the game or they want to let their friend unhook them instead.
Speaking of safety, in the same way that many people don't know how to unhook someone safely when they're the rescuer, many people don't have the information or experience necessary to know, as the hooked player, whether it's in their best interests to let themselves be rescued. They can't tell if the rescuer has BT, or a Stypic Agent they're planning on using straight off the hook, or We'll Make It, or a friend distracting the killer or coming to bodyblock, or any one of many plans that could make the rescue safer than it appears.
On top of that, there are some situations where even an unsafe unhook is better than no unhook, such as if the player is about to die or enter second stage, but not every hooked person is going to realise that. And if someone is trying to kill themselves on hook, a teammate who is quick enough can prevent them from doing so under the current system, in a way that they couldn't if the hooked player refused to let themselves be rescued.
Bodyblocking
I'm not sure what you mean about griefing bodyblockers. If you're talking about the survivors bodyblocking the killer, that isn't considered griefing, it's a legitimate tactic with mechanical counters in-game.
If you're talking about killers bodyblocking survivors, or survivors bodyblocking other survivors, for an extended period of time, that could constitute griefing and/or taking the game hostage, which are reportable offences. If someone does that to you, you should report them in the post-game screen, and also submit a ticket to Support (https://support.deadbydaylight.com/) with video evidence of the incident.
More information about bannable offences and how to report them can be found here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system#latest
Matchmaking and SWF
Similar ideas have been brought up many times before, but the problem is they're just not practical. Punishing or segregating players for wanting to play with their friends is a bad idea for two reasons - firstly, it discourages many players, especially new ones who buy the game just to play with friends, from playing at all, and secondly, the playerbase itself isn't large enough to support separate queues of any kind. You yourself pointed out that queue times are an issue at the moment - this would only make it worse.
Queue Times
Queue times do vary a lot based on not only your role and rank but also your region and the time of day. However, this is something that the developers have confirmed they are actively looking into and seeking to improve over the coming months.
I actually quite like your idea of allowing players to choose a random role to even out the queue balance, although I don't know quite how it would work logistically from the development side of things.
thanks for the kind words :)
i agree with the unhook perspective, but i still feel adding a block would benefit the most, i guess its up to the developers.
with the bodyblocking i mean if you run straight into another survivor for 2 seconds it automatacly makes u run trough them, so your not stuck in a corner or room but you would still stop on collision at first.
Matchmaking and SWF
yea what i posted was quite a handfull, and thinking about it maybe its to much to change, but i still think that the option for killers to choose *no premade party's* is acceptable, i doesn't divide the playbase. i'm sure the developers have heard this plenty of times tho, and have more experience in the matter then me.
Queue times
I know right! its actualy not my idea, they implemented this system in dota 2 a few months back because the matchmaking took to long for certain roles, ever since they implemented this its been smooth matchmaking.
