Oni is really not a good designed killer
Don't give me wrong.
The art design of the killer is very cool.
And the playstyle of it can really make the player feel you get crazier and crazier every time when you hit the survivor.
It is really a fun and special killer when it on the paper.
But when i really play as it or play against it.
I found that Oni is a killer that DEV should not made.
The reason is not he is too strong or ETC.
The reason is he is too hard for balance.
Because of you need to charge your ability before you can use it is really hurt ONI.
So even if his ability is really strong.
The limit of you need to hit survivor with no ability (which is not a easy thing even if you have a normal ability) to charge Oni's ability made Oni can't be a strong killer.

Because of the limit.
Oni's ability must be way way stronger than other killer .(If not then i can't see the reason for why Oni should exist).
Which would make survivor feel "UNFUN" to play against Oni's ability.
Then what can you do to Oni when lot of survivor complain about Oni's ability is too strong and you need to keep Oni's ability way way stronger than other killers due to Oni's difficult ability limit?
Nerf Oni's ability?(L...EG....I..O........N)
then why not just play billy?why Oni even exist?
keep Oni's ability like what it SHOULD be?
then survivor would keep cry for nerf it or maybe DC against him.
The designed of this killer is really special but is really hard to balance.
Oni just remind me how Legion got nerf in to the ground.
And i really don't want to see the history happen again.

His power is a rehash but he is fun (kinda). Hopefully this isn't a sign that bhvr is becoming creatively stagnant. They haven't made a truly original character since plague, which wasn't actuallly that long ago.
They already made him useless against survivors with a brain due to the 45° nerf. It should be 90° so he don't get countered by a simple 180. If that would be the case he would be fine honestly. Some survivors only cry, because they refuse to adapt their playstyle like against spirit before.
