Do you prefer Strafing or Turning? How do I learn to do both?

So maybe I'm a bad gamer and I just need to practice to learn, but practicing with Oni has taught me I really struggle to turn AND strafe at the same time.

On most killers I just move forward, backward, strafe left and right. Does turning with the keys help catching looping survivors. Do you do both strafing and turning or is one superior. Thanks for any advice.

    I'm on console so I'll try to help as best as possible. It might help because you're able to make sharper turns using your keys but I'm not 100% sure .
