Mettle of man has a bug that needs to be fixed

I have been using mettle of man for a while and found new ways to stack it up and one of those ways was to take a hit near a survivor in the dying state(Survivors on the ground). But after the recent changes to protection hits, you are unable to get a stack when tanking a hit for a survivor in the dying state. I think the devs should fix this because it has enabled me to proc mettle of man countless times and is just a nice additional way to stack it up.

  • You aren't protecting them from anything if they are already in the dying state. It's a protection hit when they are injured because you are giving them a chance to run away by forcing the killer into the hit cooldown.

  • Yea but it was working before the patch notes and I dont know if this is the same but you can get a protection hit from standing near a hooked survivor without unhooking them

  • This isn't a bug. The protection hit changes were intentional, as was their effect on MoM. You may simply need to adjust your gameplay style. The good news is that protection hits are much more consistent now, so you shouldn't need to go looking for unusual ways to get your MoM stacks anymore.

Althought one cool QoL change that someone told on this forum would be to add Exposed to the list you can get tokens from. (but then we would have to get some sort of indicator they're exposed soooo idk)

If I'm picking them up/preventing the killer from grabbing them (specifically at the exits) then yeah, I kinda AM protecting them

That would be a very specific case that would only be helping them if they are about to crawl out of the exit gates. It's not helpful in any other situation

It also helps when you are picking someone up just as the killer is coming back, you should be rewarded for punishing killers when they are too greedy and slug for so long

In that situation are you saying that the slugged person is at 95% recovery, you start picking them up, get hit by the killer, and then finish picking the person up? In that case, the killer is going to down either you or your teammate as soon as you finish picking them up. Depending on who they down is going to determine if you get a protection hit or not. Either way, it's a stupid play.

But 99% of the time what happens is, the killer realizes that person has been slugged for longer than 1 minute, so they wait for you to finish reviving them and down them again instantly, instead of trying to swing at you. Then the persons revive bar is reset, and the killer has a free new chase with you and a reason to keep that person slugged.

Best case scenario, you get the person up before the killer gets there, and manage to take a hit for them afterwards. In that case, you will get a protection hit. All the other situations are just bad plays that you shouldn't be making

I'd be down to implement an exposed indicator, kinda like broken!

If they are on a pallet or I have dead hard or a styptic or SB ready or have other teammates nearby I wont go down immediately, there are plenty of opportunities to escape
