a 100% legion rework
i already seen some minor change proposition from people that wanted legion to be good without changing is core mechanic, but i'm not one of them, when the trailer for legion came out with the title "darkness amoung us" many people (myself included) were hyped, thinking that legion was going to be a killer disguising himself as a survivor, and when the artwork of frank standing in front of the mirror came out, people were even more hyped by the idea of multiple killer on the map ! But turns out, legion just rUn fAsT, and just slightly bother survivors by doing so... Thats really boring, nobody like it and it doesn't reference their background at all, so i wanted to completly change their power, so here is my idea : a bit inspired by "yidhra and the followers" from identity v
frank is the "main legion" because he's the leader of the group, so he is the playble legion, while the others are "secondary legion" on the map they follow frank around and do nothing in particular (for now)
while in frenzy, all the legion will remove their mask, lose all terror radius and red stain and they'll be able to walk and run at the same speed as a survivor , with their animation mimicking the survivors's one too, they can vault windows and pallet at the same speed too, but can't throw them down or break them , in summary they become fake survivors, if frank hit a survivor while in frenzy he'll send a secondary legion follow the survivor around at all time as a fake survivor (they won't attack or anything just follow them) and then go into his "bLeArGrBlEu" for 4 sencond , and the power gauge will start refiling slowly,(this reference the moment in the lore when frank first stabbed the cleaner before ordering them to finish the job) also while in frenzy, the player can switch which legion he/she is controling (if a secondary legion is following a survivor) the survivor will be warned before the change occurs with the secondary legion putting back it's mask and gaining the terror radius/red stain. The player can stay as a secondary legion as long as he/she want but the secondary legions can't use frenzy (they're basicaly trappers without traps) so switching back to frank is in their best interest (switching back to frank will make him do his "bLeArGrBlEu") , there is 3 way for the survivors to get rid of a secondary legion following them, the first is to pallet stun them while the killer is controlling the secondary legion (doing this will force the player to switch back to frank, and send the secondary legion back to the main legion), the second (wich can be done while the killer isn't controlling the secondary legion) is to find one of 8 mirrors hidden on the map and interact with them (take 6-8 second to interact with) doing this will break the mirror creating a huge pillar of light, blinding the secondary legion and reveal your position to the main legion for 3 seconds (reference to the artwork of frank in front of the mirror, am i the only one that thought that the mirror was going to play a role in his gameplay? and the light is a counter to the legion because "DARKNESS amoung us") and the third is to blind (flashlight, firecrackers), or stun(desicive strike and head on only, pallet stuns are to easy to do) frank directly, doing this will send back every secondary legion back to him (since they all respect and admire him, it's normal for them to go check on him if they hear him in trouble)
i copied the official way to describe the power and reworked the add-ons too (some may be too op), i know my idea will certainly stay un-noticed, and even if it is noticed, doing a rework like this will certainly take too much time and work, but i hope it can give you some ideas for what to do with legion or/and make you know that nobody like the actual legion gameplay(if you didn't know already) and need to be change, also english isn't my first language so sorry for the many spelling mistakes
The legion rework idea :
power : feral frenzy : only The main legion (frank) can activate this power. The legion has a frenzy power gauge that builds up over time .The power, Feral Frenzy, can be activated by tapping the Power button. While active, the power end when the killer decide to . Ending the power will trigger an extended recovery cool-down.
When activating Feral Frenzy, The Legion enters a deadly rage. While the power is active:
- The Legions will remove their mask
- The Legions movement speed and animations will be the same as a survivor .
- The Legions can vault Pallets, but cannot break them.
- The Legions's stain and terror radius will disappear .
- The Player can change which member of the legion they control.
While Feral Frenzy is active, hitting a Survivor :
- Injures the Survivor, if they are not already injured.
- send a secondary legion to follow them around at all time (only one per survivor , 3 secondary legion maximum)
- survivors can get rid of a secondary legion by searching mirrors found around the map (8 maximum) and interacting with them , or by hiting them with a pallet
- If the main legion is blinded by a flashlight or hit by the decisive strike or head on perks all the secondary legion will go back to him
- the mirrors will reveal the survivor location to the killer in the form of a pillar of light if they interact with it
- the light will blind the secondary legion and force them to go back to the main legion
- as long as the secondary legion isn’t near the main legion the main legion can’t send them to another survivor
- if the 3 secondary legion are already following a survivor the feral frenzy attack won’t have any effect beside it’s first one and potential add-ons
- missing an attack:
- Depletes The Legion's entire power gauge and ends the power immediately.
