To be fair I didn't get time to notice which map had just loaded, it may have been MacMillan's estate every time. I mentioned this in another post on your comment but I haven't had a crash for a number of days now and I believe that's because I've been restarting my console every few hours.
Or.... it may be because they've just updated the game, however I've been having this issue before and after other updates.

Definitely not just you - I can play other games for hours without issue (forced to play other games for hours because of the time penalties I had!).
What I have noticed is this; restart your console regularly. I haven't had a crash in days now. When I say regularly I mean every few hours just restart the console completely and you should be fine.

I get the same as a killer. Rank 15 killer against rank 1 to 8 survivors sometimes. Peeves me off that they teabag at the end. Even I don't do that when I play survivor.

I'm sure I'm not the only one making this decision. Most probably won't say anything, especially since when anyone voices anything killer related they just get dismissed.
Anywho. This kind of 'test' should of been done on the PTB, not the main game. The main game should be used for the best experience, not making harder on the most stressful role just for data.
It's definitely been a right pain in the arse, and I'm rank 15 killed getting matched up with rank 1 - 10 lately... so they've been exploiting the fact I can't catch up with them. I give up for now, gonna be survivor again for a while.

That being said being a tryhard doesn't make you a bad person. It's a game so do whatever you think is fun.
In which case I would say no I am not a "tryhard", I've been playing for just a little over a month and I'm a rank 14 killer facing off against rank 4 and 5 survivors who were being incredibly annoying (I believe the term is "tea bagging"). The two DCs were because I caught up to them pretty quick. Should I just lose a game to let rank 4 and 5 survivors win?

Actually I would beg to differ on this, the most toxic community belongs to that of League of Legends. I had to give up that game because of the toxicity especially from players on the same side.
In Dbd I've had my equal share of "gg", "ggwp" to "you're a tryhard and I will report you". The toxic comments I tend to ignore now and just get on with it. I will however message good killers and let them know it was a fun game and got my heart beating haha.

My game crashed again and now I have a five and a half hour penalty. Unless this is sorted out I think I may end up having to quit playing.

I've had this loads today, and in one game it was within seconds before I could even get anywhere that the killer got me. Got to a point where I've just had to stop playing for a while.

Same issue here on any map with a hill.
As a killer I down survivors and then pick them up and dump them on top of the hill, because I'm nice like that :)

They introduced it in the last update, and I get why because it encourages people not to rage quit but it's beyond annoying if your internet drops or the game crashes and you get penalised for something that's out of your control. Hope they sort this one out!
