I'm still angry about it, hillbilly is by far my favorite killer in the game and I don't understand why they nerfed him. He was perfect, he was strong but.not overpowered, he had a low skill floor and a high skill ceiling, his add-ons were perfect, everything was just great about him. Then they nerfed him, for the sake of change. He's still a decent killer don't get me wrong, but he's a lot worse than he used to be.
The overheat mechanic is stupid, why punish a killer for using their own ability? It doesn't make sense to me. And his add-ons were gutted, some of them are just useless, and the other ones were changed to deal with the overheat mechanic, nobody every complained about him from what I can tell. He was the most beloved killer in dbd at that time and behavior ruined him for absolutely no reason whatsoever. I will never not be salty about it. Despite the nerf though, I still hillbilly. He'll always be my favorite killer no matter what, I love his design, his lore his great, his outfits are cool, and he's still somewhat fun to play. Honestly I just wish they'd revert him to the wya he use to be, sure he wouldn't be as good as before, since there's more maps in the game now and some are horrible for Billy, and the game is a lot different than it was before. But he'd be a lot better than he is now, maybe one day he'll be reverted. Probably not though lol.
For the record, plenty of killers' powers have negative side effects. Nurse fatigue. Nemesis tentacle slowdown. Legion can't see scratchmarks. Spirit can't see survivors. Trapper can trigger his own traps(but not hag)? Deathslinger practically stops to reload regardless if he hits or not. Oni runs out of blood and is reliant on survivors being injured to fuel his power effectively. Billy didn't have a downside. Fast. Power breaks obstacles. All he had to do was wait not very long for his power to come back online. Overheat keeps him in check. Kind of. Was it fun getting the zoomies and circling a map? Yes. But that kinda speed and mobility needs a drawback.
Obviously this a dissenting opinion, but a change was warranted. Not saying the change they made was effective, but something needed to be done.

Nurse’s Calling does not reveal survivors who are mending or recovering. It will, however, reveal a downed survivor who is being healed by someone else (and Mangled does affect this healing as well, which is normal). Healing a downed teammate IS a healing action, this is correct. But recovering isn’t healing and isn’t supposed to be affected by Mangled.
Also, Mangled actually does affect the syringe addon from medkits because the syringe explicitly says it is affected by heal speed modifiers. This means it can also be made faster, eg. if the survivor has Botany or is in CoH range.
But generally speaking, in order for Mangled to affect something, it needs to be a healing action, which mending and recovering are not.
I don't recall reading that on syringe. May need to dust off my survivors and relearn a few things. Good to know.

No, this is a bug. Hemorrhage does not affect mending. And mending is not healing and does not reveal survivors on Nurse’s Calling and is not a conspicuous action. You can actually mend a teammate without losing DS.
It’s also affecting recovery speed which is also a bug. Healing a downed survivor will be slower with Mangled, that’s normal. But recovering yourself isn’t supposed to be affected.
The only things that are intended to make mending slower are specific addons for Legion (+4 seconds) and Deathslinger (+1.5 seconds and +3.5 seconds).
Healing, summarized, is an action that puts you into a higher health state. The act of using a med kit, self heal or the base healing function(healing progress bar) is a Healing Action (not to be confused with the act of healing). Deep wounds is a special health state between Dying and Injured. Mending and Recovery(correct me if I'm wrong, but picking up a survivor in the dying state is considered a Healing Action, not recovery) are not considered Healing Actions, just as the needle from a med kit isn't, however it is still a form of healing, and therefore mangled per its description, slows down the healing speed by 20%. Because instant healing methods dont have a speed, mangled cant affec them, but Recovery and Mend are healing, but not a Healing Action as they are special forms of healing, which is why they are designated with a special name. This is how I came to the conclusion that it is working as intended.
That being said, does nurses calling let you see mending/recovering survivors? I don't typically use that perk so can't say I recall one way or the other, but if not then the wording on that perk may need to be updated.
But I suppose if it's not intended to work this way it will hopefully get fixed and clarified in their definitions.

It's map dependant. The new Eyrie map... pallet density is insane with a lot of longish loops due to weird loop geometry.
-
Seems to be working as intended? Healing through a health state, regardless of which health state, is how mangled works. Deep wounds is considered a special health state. Mend is the term they use, but it is still healing for all intents and purposes. Pretty sure Haemorrhage affects mend as well?

This is called "99ing" the gates, or filling the meter to only 99%. The reason people do this is to wait for the other survivors to get to the gate so they can all escape together, or so they can rescue a survivor that might be in danger (i.e. unhooking or taking a protection hit while they're injured) with the most available time possible. It's been a thing for years.
As for not escaping immediately once the gate is opened, there are a few different reasons. As you said, they might want to BM the killer. They might also be healing their teammates for extra bloodpoints, or they might want to give the killer some extra bloodpoints by letting them get 1 or 2 more hits on them.
The reason to 99 the gates is solid.
Survivors waiting at the gate though, 9 times out of 10 in my experience, is purely to antagonize the killer. Most of the time I move in to hit/push them out and they run out before I can get the hit anyway. I have sat in the middle of the map with all the survivors at the gate and they will sit there and waste the two minutes or whatever it is and walk out at the last second just to antagonize. I guess some survivors need you to hold their hand out the gates...

Correcting my previous statement. I read up on endurance effects and it clearly states the endurance/deep wounds interaction should not protect a survivor from going down. That said, I have had the 4th hit survivor deadhard the 5th hit from Legion without mending. I will see if I can get evidence of this later.

That's interesting. I didn't think you could vault that window from outside as survivor or killer.

I think more information is needed. Downed survivors cant be broke. Adrenaline affect still applies. Injured survivors still get the adrenaline buffs just without the immediate health state progression. They will still get the speed buff. If the survivor is downed by any method, be it deep wounds or being put into the dying state without a grab, they immediately pop back up.
Also could have been they had an ability to heal without traditional healing? Renewal activating before terminus might heal someone even if they have the broken state based on how the text of the perks are written. Pretty sure an active syringe will heal after terminus activates as well as its not considered healing according to the text, only the gaining of a health state. Could be wrong.

IMHO I did not start getting paired up with survivors of equal skill level until nearly 1200 hours into the game. So there is that problem of MMR as stated before, but keep in mind a close mmr match is usually not possible when you are trying to balance the amount of time spent in queue as well. That being said, when playing g solo, you need to balance what you wanna do. Build around information perks that let you know what your fellow survivors are doing. You can't play solo and expect group perks to work well. There are definitely other options for use on solo queue. Also, the more you play, the higher your mmr typically gets naturally and you will eventually get to a level where solo queue survivors are able to break ankles. There are plenty of solo queue streamers that break ankles. And run killers. Can watch some of them and learn from their tactics. I watch other people play as much as I play usually.

If you are on steam perform a file validation. If persistent, do a reinstall. Epic, reinstall the game. Sometimes when a game is patched you can get one off instances where something will break.

Your speed still seemed fast. May e a GUI issue? Curious if when you stalked again if it made you start from Tier 1. Also, I completed a shape daily two days ago to tier up evil within x times. Worked fine for me. Maybe reinstall/validate game files and see if the issue persist?

I have experienced something similar, but it's usually a latency issue where I teleport to a TV as the tape is being pulled. The teleport freaks out and eventually get tossed against a wall near the tv I was trying to teleport to. During this time I can't interract or swing and everyone eappears to lag/run in place, then it all rubber bands back to where it should be, but the game continues as normal for survivors. Strange it happens every teleport for you.
