  • Very interesting how in your argument you're completely ignoring the fact that she has very short fatigue after the vault, can vault an unlimited amount of times without effort/skill required or is 120% speed at base… Very, very interesting indeed.

If we're simply gonna compare killers 1 to 1 without taking into consideration their strengths then let's align Krasue with similar killers, shall we ?
Let's make all her movement speeds, charging time, releasing time, cooldowns and fatigues the same as Plague. And let's not forget that when a survivor takes a mushroom it'll not only instantly cure them but also fully heal them :)
I bet that doesn't sound as fun though, does it ?

I get it, Krasue is overpowered and thus makes it easy to get kills, but balancing is about being objective, and not stubbornly defending a broken killer because they allow us to easily stomp.

  • I agree with MaddieMage.

These are just band-aids that are only gonna penalise legit players who have no choices but attempt to try and turn the game around. If you want to get rid of people going next constantly, hardcore slugging, camping and such (which there should be more updates about in the year) then BHVR needs to address the core issues: find out why people do those and solve that issue. Or at least make it better.

Plenty of survivors who are trying to go next are unhooked before they're able to (often even before they reach stage 2) and it changes literally nothing. Because that person doesn't want to play the game anymore. So all they do is stand there AFK or run into the killer asking to go next. Or sometimes even worse: they're pissed off they couldn't go next so they go around the map dropping every pallets in order to grief the other survivors.

You cannot force someone who doesn't want to play anymore to keep playing the game. And the fact BHVR and many people stubbornly think you can is baffling.

I don't know why Otz thinks this change will affect newer players so much.

And this is such a minor "nerf", I really don't think it will make much difference to her performance for most other players either. I'm not a very good Plague, so I'm probably at a much lower MMR than Otz. And from my point of view, it's her ability to keep Survivors injured that makes her strong, not her ability to get ranged downs. She's like Legion in that respect, but with a little bit extra. Her ranged instadown attack is more of a bonus to new players, since it takes a fair amount of practice to be really effective with it.

Besides, weaker teams also cleanse very often. So it won't be such a big deal if you lose your power, since you'll probably have plenty of corrupted fountains around the map to get it back pretty quickly anyway.

I agree with the newer players part of your message, but not the rest.

Good survivors know how to stay wounded yet safe, so her being able to keep the team injured isn't that strong at higher level. Unless you rock an M1 build, maybe.

At higher level you will not rely on Corrupt Purge for the whole game, but it is part of your kit and needed for pressure/turning things around for you. If you're not able to use half of your power why play her, you know ? And when you're good at Plague, you can get insane shots, which is what makes her fun to play for so many. Like how good Huntresses will go for cross map snipes instead of just zoning.

If survivors didn't have control over her power's triggering condition (they need to cleanse for her to get it), then having DS, Head On, pallets and Blastmine get rid of her power would be okay. Gotta have to try, but a flashlight save might also get rid of it since it counts as a stun (it triggers Parental Guidance and Hubris, for example.)

But that's way too many ways to get rid of her power or deny it. No other killers has that many counters. They even removed the burning mechanic from Wraith, Nurse, Artist's crows and Hag's traps because they didn't like to give extra counters like that, so I find it pretty ridiculous that there are now so many perks that can counter Plague's power and it's "how it should have been" for them…

Plague was in a good spot too: strong but not OP, although her Iri Seal addon was too much.

  • I don't see the big deal. If someone wants to dodge a lobby because someone has Self-Care by itself, then let just them dodge. Better to have someone dodge than have someone kill themselves on first hook because once in game they're stuck with players running selfish/meme builds and their only chance to get out of the game asap is to kill themselves on hook.

If you're concerned you, specifically, are gonna be dodged constantly... well, you should be aware of what kind of build you're running and take responsibility, honestly. I wouldn't be annoyed at anybody avoiding me when all I'm running is Diversion or No Mither because it makes sense: they want a normal game while I don't. Let them have the choice to play with me or not, they shouldn't be forced to have a terrible experience because I want to play like an idiot at the moment.

And that aside, in terms of synergies it'd be amazing. "Oh, that Meg runs We'll Make It ? I'll let her unhook if I see her going for it, then," "Mikaela has Deliverance ? I'll keep note of that if I see her trade for a hook or if she's being proxy camped and has it ready," and stuff like that. Sometimes you pick someone with We're Gonna Live Forever active but they don't realise they have Endurance and just run away all scared, maybe if they had seen the perk in the lobby they would have paid attention when you picked them up in the killer's face.

My issue with all the "cons" you guys offer is that they're purely selfish. It's "I want to play MY way and some people might not like it so I hate the idea they could have the possibility to dodge me. I don't want them to have the choice to dodge my selfish/stupid/meme playstyle, I want to force them to deal with me" it's like... no. Let people be free to choose if they want to play with you or not.

And reastically, most people wouldn't dodge because most people are casuals who really don't care nor expect anything from solo queue anyway.
