That is a self fulfiling scenario. I lead killers away from hooks constantly, and im not even a great looper. I just understand map pressure and do what I can to help with it. Does it work every single time? of course not, some killers can and will camp regardless. But i also use that information to make myself theoretically invincible knowing they refuse to come after me when it would cost them their own pressure.
I guarantee I succeed at it more frequently than survivors unhooking in the killers face and basically encouraging them to camp and tunnel.
please tell me what times you play solo queue so that i can queue up with you and get you as a partner. because this is 100% NOT self-fulfilling scenario, this is reality at least half the time. even when i play killer, i can confirm that survivors play like this quite often:
a survivor will be hooked right outside kill shack, so a teammate will come in for the save before i've had a chance to leave. and instead of running away, he's looping at shack because it's a powerful loop. because im not a good killer and i suck at chase, im stuck running shack for a while. but since i'm still at shack, and i'm in chase which means i'm not actually camping, the hooked survivor's timer is running out. eventually, i see that. so i stand by the hook and wait 5 more seconds for them to hit 2nd stage. what do i lose here? even if the other 2 are doing gens, there are 2 right in front of me that are not. all because potato decided it was a good idea to run a loop right next to the hook, and then accuse me of camping despite giving me no reason to leave
it doesnt have to be kill shack. it can be a TL wall with a hook in the middle. it can be cowshed with a hook in the corner. i have lost count how many times a teammate has tried to stealth their way to unhook me, only to get caught last second, and because they dont have BT, instead of trading, they run a loop right next to me.

Playing as her, she's my favorite killer easy. She'll be one of the few who, after pain res gets changed, can still probably make use of pain res + DMS because of how her power works.
but playing against artist is kinda boring because the best strategy is hold forward. its disappointing tbh cause as i said she's my favorite killer to play as, but i don't blame survivors for doing what they need to do to survive.
-
they have stated multiple times that these are valid strategies; somewhere in these forums they specifically state that if your report includes the words camping, tunneling, or slugging, among others, that your report gets ignored and thrown out. so unless you can convince BHVR to change their minds and reconsider the health of their game, they are here to stay. I don't like it any more than OP does, but at this point i just kind of expect it as survivor; and there are times when i feel like i have to tunnel as killer or camp in the end game, or i will for sure lose the match.
That being said, with this new patch, i do feel like they deserve some credit for trying. it's the first time since i've started playing that i felt like BHVR was treating me with respect instead of making dumb comparisons between DBD and hockey or telling me to go play a a different game like civilization. however, with the new endurance meta, tunneling might be more discouraged, but facecamping is stronger than ever since gens take longer. the best way to counter a camper is to gen rush, but thats harder now, so i expect to see a rise in camping. better get the marshmallows ready...

glad im not the only one with this sentiment. i love playing as her, but at best i will get a 2k, and both would likely come in the end game. even when i used to only chase 8 hooks and let everyone go, getting those hooks was definitely an arduous task unless i had an extremely altruistic team who would trade hooks in front of me. but damn she's fun. idk how to explain it, shes just fun to use and i dont always mind losing when playing as sadako

Last time the devs took away BP cap people got into the billions. Don't ask
so what? why is that a bad thing? if they have all the perks and items they want, wouldnt it stand to reason that they would be stocking BPs anyway?
literally the only reason why that's a bad thing is so that when BHVR inevitably breaks something again, they cant simply throw BPs at us as a weak apology.

now that you mention it, i was hoping to see some changes regarding the survivor icons so that solos can see what their teammates are doing. wasnt that mentioned a few Q&As back? and they've gone radio silent on it. since i dont expect them to ever get rid of swfs, buffing solo queue as much as possible and then balancing the game around that will be much better imo.

This is how I read it too and all Scourge Hooks will have the Monstrous Shrine Entity progression
oh wow i didnt think of that. i thought it would just turn all basement hooks into scourge hooks, and if i were to also use pain resonance, then the basement hooks would also remove 15% of the most completed gen. but if that were the case, then i guess it would also go the other way around as well, right? since all scourge hooks stack, that means the 4 scourge hooks spawned on the map by the current perks would also gain monstrous shrine?
or does this mean that if we run pain res + shrine that there wouldnt be 8 total hooks, there would only be 4 and they would all be in the basement?

As a killer main, I have no shame in admitting that I do not want solo queue to become anything like playing against a swf every game. Having weaker links that have less information and/or are unable to communicate, is what helps make the game tolerable.
as someone who really enjoys playing killer, i get this sentiment, i really do. but i also play a fair bit of survivor, and having teammates like those you describe is exactly why i swf every chance i get. solo queue is more often than not is a miserable experience. however, nerfing swfs is not a thing, and they've explicitly stated it will never be a thing, so the only other option is to buff solo queue. they'll never get solo queue to be equally powerful as swf, but they can bridge the gap. this in turn gives them a better idea of how the average game will go (because theyre not always gonna be bot survivors, and they wont always be swf either), and they can buff killers around the new mechanics.

I think that's because survivors are less whiny than killers to be honest.
theres another thread in this forum asking for no way out not to activate once the killer closes hatch; i think survivors are plenty whiny. that being said, you're not wrong to believe that many killers are also just as whiny.
back to the point of this topic: i think this falls into the mmr paradox. if OP is consistently getting bullied/gen rushed like he claims, then eventually his mmr will drop to the point where he can handle the survivors. this is what is supposed to happen with sbmm. i will agree that it doesnt happen every time, and it sure feels like i get punished for winning far more often than getting rewarded for losing, but for the most part, it's been my experience that the new mmr changes theyve added since the testing week seem to work. i'm not at the highest of mmrs, and i was still able to brute force my way from red 3 to red 1 in about 3-4 hours this past weekend. all this while using ghostface, who even with the re-works is still considered a low tier, M1 killer. OP Can do this too, especially if he is losing as much as he thinks he is, because eventually he will play against survivors who are at his skill level. i would advise letting everyone go even at that point, continue getting 0 kills except for when survivors dont unhook/kill themselves on hook. dont even bother camping or securing for the 1k at the endgame. youre not playing to win right now, you're playing to learn. when you get the hang of killer in general (and specifically the killer you are using), then you can start going for wins again.

she's my favorite killer to use, maybe 2nd only to ghostface. tbh i stopped playing her for a while because games got too easy and i just wanted to meme around with ghostface. i love playing her personally, but i seem to be in the minority like you. since most of the community hates playing as her, you're not likely to see her. it happens with the less favorite killers. i havent seen a twins killer in almost 3 months, then randomly saw 3 within an hour last week.
-
she may have been a flop in terms of sales, but i dont think it was a total failure. she's fun to play, both as and against. like you said, we still see a fair number of onryo's in the game; by this same point after the portrait chapter, the artist had almost completely disappeared. Sadako brings a genuine sense of dread with her design and her teleport powers, and her animations and her basic attack are really unique and cool imo. best of all, her perks seem like they were thought out. call of brine gives killers a reason to kick gens again, merciless storm is like diet DMS, and floods of rage is like bbq and chili but better (except no BP bonus, sadge). i think she was really well made. unfortunately i cant say the same about the survivor: parental guidance is cool but situational at best, and his other perks are really meh. however this may be because i know nothing about him or his lore.
really i think the biggest reason for her lackluster reception has more to do with the contradiction within the community. i've lost count at how many people totally hate on the artist because "ShEs AnOtHeR aNtI lOoP kIlLeR." with the way the game is right now, anti-loop is a powerful killer mechanic, which is why so many were released with some kind of anti-loop feature. but people got tired of it, so BHVR listens and releases an M1, hit and run killer, yet nothing changes; everyone complains that she's weak. so do the people want anti-loop or not?
-
i dont think there are actually more toxicity in survivors than killers. the toxic, bad manners mindset exists equally on both sides. i just think it's sheer numbers that makes it feel like more survivors do it. one toxic killer and 4 clean survivors means the killer outnumbers the survivors. but if even 1 survivor is toxic back, then at most it's an even trade: 1 toxic person on both sides. if any of the other 3 other teammates jump in with the first one, then just like that, the number of toxic survivors outnumber that of the killers. but that doesnt mean the killer wasnt toxic in the first place.
granted, i'm saying all this under the assumption that "toxic" refers to words exchanged during endgame chat or basically any disrespect outside of a match. as far as i care, anything that happens in game is fair play. not necessarily fun, but fair.

Yeah, but also be a realistic... if I can chose only one, it will always be fix the game.
Look at Dota, there is new hero like once a year and noone cares, because the game works and is well balanced.
This. Right here. I am so tired of seeing people so quick to give BHVR a pass. If they really arent the ones in charge of fixing the game, if they cant address the following issues due to a higher up's instruction, then redirect this rant to whomever is in charge. People have been getting DDoSed for about a month, probably more now, and it's been absolute radio silence, other than a throwaway article in a blog no one has ever read. then there are hackers galore, especially in the higher mmr games (not that i have experienced it because im not that good, but there's too much evidence to ignore). And now, not to mention the numerous bugs in the game (ex: still a glitch in dead dawg saloon, where survivors can hijack the game by waiting on the cart near the gallows that a non-ranged killer cant reach or access. thus, they cant be killed, but they also wont do gens, so the game cant progress).
fix the game-breaking problems and people will be happy. and if people are happy, they will spend money, which is apparently their end goal. it's not rocket science.

Step 1 : Boot the game (Playing on Xbox 1, crossplay on)
Step 2 : Play as killer in a public match
Step 3 : Waiting in lobby, all survivor slots filled. none are with new mikaela survivor
Step 4 : Game stuck on infinite loading screen
Step 5: quit game, rebooted, able to load game.
step 6: repeat from step 3
TL;DR - i cant play more than 1 game at a time without having to close the game and restart
this has been happening more and more frequently ever since BHVR has claimed to fixed the original problem
