Legit made a report about this a while ago cause I got hit a good half way through my dead hard, just got told that they've been looking into it and its a latency issue. So I did a check on the first time that it was reported and it was something like august 2020, so yeah I reckon that they aren't fixing it, I would love to be able to reliably run it.

its insane how rare i see a hit that i can go yeah i agree that did 100% hit me, and not either yeah for dbd i guess getting hit 1m away is normal or absolutely raging at a ridiculous hit
Capture5.PNG Capture6.PNGexactly 7s apart by the way, the first i cant even see hit me, the second i have no words, 34-36ms of ping btw

My guy the only reason those failed grabs exist is when the server disagrees that you got a grab, which only happens when your ping is high enough that whilst your game thinks that the survivor is still on the gen the server already knows that the survivor left.
The slight animation you see of grabbing them is the time it takes for the server to tell your game that u did not get the grab, I play this game with consistent 34-36ms of ping and from my experience the servers are pretty killer sided for grabs, thus the solution to your problem is to just get better internet, or to just go for a lunge hit instead of a grab.
I admit that if you do fail a grab depending on your ping you should at least get an m1 but saying that dead hard should also not be able to leave you exhausted on the ground.
The real fix for this is a complete overhaul of the hit detection system but knowing the devs that aint gonna happen for at least 3 years, i mean dead hard has been broken since 3.7, a full year but not a single thing has changed.
