I’m going to say what many won’t—and I’m referring primarily to content creators (DBD Creators), who really ought to be taking this issue much more seriously with Behaviour.
Dead by Daylight has become a massive game. Behaviour stopped being a small company struggling to handle such success a long time ago; yet today, they operate like a developer that simply doesn't know how to look after its own product. It is absurd for them to try to justify their neglect of Nintendo players by blaming the certification process. Why don't other developers suffer from this same chronic delay problem? You should have sorted this out with Nintendo ages ago to prevent our community from being treated like second-class citizens.
As for the lack of a native version for the Nintendo Switch 2, the real reason is becoming increasingly clear: to them, the profit from the Nintendo player base isn't worth the effort, and they’d rather avoid the headache of optimizing the game for the platform. The result? They are slowly destroying the Switch community.
The absurd competitive disadvantage we face is infuriating. How can you compete on a Switch 1 against someone playing on PC at 120 FPS? The bare minimum these days would be a dedicated version for the Nintendo Switch 2 running at 60 FPS—or at least 30 FPS with the graphical stability of a PS4. But they aren't even willing to do that, driven by sheer greed and a refusal to invest in the project.
They are slowly killing off the player base that has dedicated itself to the game all these years. We do our part as consumers by demanding respect, but what’s most frustrating is seeing the lack of unity and the silence from content creators. DBD Creators simply ignore the reality of the Nintendo version—perhaps because they’re comfortable on their high-end PCs. I often see people who don't even play on the platform spouting nonsense like, "It's Nintendo's fault; just switch platforms and be done with it." Behaviour recently held a Q&A session—did a single prominent content creator even raise the topic of the Switch 2 or discuss it with them? Exactly. It is this kind of complicity that allows Behaviour to quietly kill off the Nintendo community. To make matters worse, I won't even get started on the upcoming graphical update scheduled for 2027. The bare minimum we demand is transparency with the consumer, rather than that cowardly, robotic response claiming "there are no plans for the Nintendo Switch 2 at this time."
