Hello there :) I stopped playing DbD back when Huntress released, and I used to play as Survivor. I returned after Executioner debuted, and I've been enjoying killer a lot. I started off with The Trapper, having horrible matches, and being in Rank 20-18 forever, but after playing Hag, Clown (yes...) and Doctor, I managed to climb up the way to 10.
I've been interested in learning more killers, like Nightmare, Deathslinger and Huntress, and since then I started having issues getting any kill at all. At first I figured I was just failing often for trying out new killers as I leveled them up, but then I went back to my mains and... yeah, I can't get a single kill with the characters that carried me to Rank 10.
This lose streak has been going for 10 games in a row, as I'm typing this, I'm waiting for my Match Left Penalty to go 0, as I exited a game as The Doctor when the survivors figured out I was having a bad time.
All my matches seem to have people who body block hooks, body block Deathslinger chains, are full of Keys, Decsisive Strikes, etc. So, I figured I just suck and I have to be better in general, and I came to ask for advice.
I get Gen Rushed HARD; by the time I finish my first chase (which usually doesn't take long), a Gen is fixed, and survivors snowball into victory. I don't like to play dirty (Camping Hooks, etc.), I usually hook and roam towards the other generators; more often than not, there's two generators being repaired at the same time by the time I do my first hook (I know this because of Thrilling Tremors).
I've been watching popular streamers like Otz to learn more, researching builds, etc. But it's my skill that's lacking. I still haven't found a Killer that clicks with me the way Clown did (he's the killer that has given me the most victories), but I know at this point playing him is like stabbing my own leg. I also enjoy Deathslinger but I won't even try to hide the fact that 3 out of 10 shots are actual hits on survivors.
So, I'm here, trapped, regressing in ranks, unable to have a single victory while I get rushed, teabagged, and have to wait forever so Survivors just leave the gate because they're there waiting to mock me...
I know it's a long post and thanks for reading, anything I can learn will be of much use :)
Biggest tips is to make sure to be time efficient - Pressure multiple survivors at once, always be doing something valuable, know when to take your ** out of a strong loop, etc etc.
If you don't want a gen popping too fast early game try my hit-and-run tactic: Find multiple people on the same gen, if the first person you chase brings you REALLY far away, recognise that they are trying to put YOU out of position to pressure their teammates. You turn around, let them escape and go right back and smack their teammates. Who cares if they have medkits, Self-Care or each other to heal. If they use medkits you can make them waste it early game, if they use Self-Care they're wasting time. If they heal each other that's a minimum of two survivors not doing objectives. These are all wins in my book.

I’m not sure why people are struggling with the way the OP is worded as I understand it perfectly? Lol.
Anyway, I definitely know what you mean and I agree. It’s always the same for me. The team come in with Quick & Quiet, Head On, Saboteur and Breakout and spend the majority of the match chasing me around whilst neglecting to do a single gen.
I’ve became a Deathslinger main as I feel like he’s such an ‘Anti-SWF’ killer as his ability to end chases fast and shut down strong loops is just incredible. He’s the only killer in the game who I feel completely at peace with when playing.
I suppose everybody has ‘their’ killer but I just feel so cool, calm and collected when playing as the Rhinestone Cowboy. 🤠
I respect and value your opinion but god I hate playing as/against Deathslinger zzzzzzzz boring

If you wanna run Desperate Measures you're basically the team's Altruism bot. So pick perks that synergise well with healing/unhooking:
I suggest some of these two mainly:
Borrowed Time, Empathy. Botany Knowledge as well if you want, but I honestly think it's a waste of a slot if you already have Desperate Measures.
Last perk can be whatever you want, maybe something not altruism-based so you can have some flexibility:
Self-Care, Deliverance, Resilience, Exhaustion Perks, etc etc...
Perks don't matter too too much for "actual use". Just have fun.

True but I want to master hatchet
Can't master hatchet without using some perks to help. Play on whichever account you like, and focus on being patient and PREDICTING the survivor, not moving your screen.
I highly suggest just play on your original account without perks to level it up and get them. Huntress ain't that reliant on perks.
If you're wondering what perks are good for her, I recommend Umbra's classic perk loadout or you can go for CoconutRTS' loadout. They're both really nutty with their hatchets.
Personally for a start I recommend Discordance/Corrupt to find survivors quicker,
I'm All Ears/BBQ/Bitter Murmur as one (or more) of your Aura Perks,
And the other slots are up to your preference

lol I am also a rank 1 survivor and solo queue almost exclusively. My build is typically Kindred, so I can tell when my teammates are going for a save and my teammates can tell when I am being camped. I also run Sprint just to delay my getting downed ever so slightly. I run Pharmacy to get a free med kit every match, especially since now you can use it up in game and keep it if you escape. And I swap the last one from time to time but it's usually We'll Make It just to my potato teammates might stay up a little longer.
I've only ever run DS for the adept and tbh I'd run Dead Hard over Sprint if it were reliable and worked as it should but I agree, the builds survivors will use and then complain that they died, are just laughable. Survivor isn't hard.
Exactly. I mostly run meme perks because that's how I enjoy the game. Who cares about sweating my ass off. The only perk I insist on running is Windows of Opportunity so that I know which areas have no more pallets left because of potato teammates. Recently I've been doing the Small Game/Inner Strength/Soul Guard build because of the Ruin/Undying meta. Which is pretty nice because I can cleanse the hex totems pretty quickly and don't have to rely on teammates for healing.

Survivors are not allowed to use DS, unbreakable, OoO etc
but I AM allowed to use insta downs, moris, every single strong perk possible and the reasoning is "im the power role"
so you tell me.. ME who has to deal with
-potatoe teammates
-Dedicated servers, hitboxes, bloodlust
-unsafe pallets in every corner, dead ends
-insta downs, moris, strong killer perks
even tho i need to deal with more things then you can imagine its a ######### move when i bring strong perks?
BUT "survivor playing is so easy LMAO TROLOLOL"
yeah its very easy especially when you get dedi hits in every corner. go play soloQ with potatoes and lets meet again.
you dont want people to complain about your noed and mori then you also shouldnt complain about some solo survivors bring some perks to survive longer because they dont wanna get tunneled at the beginning of the match.
If I can reach rank 1 survivor SOLOQ without using DS, Unbreakable, Dead Hard, etc...
Then the people who use those perks but still complain about losing because killers bring strong things
Have micro pp.

Out of curiosity, which killer were you playing? You would not have this problem with certain killers.

Adrenaline is one of the most clutch perks in the game. A speed boost on the same level as Sprint Burst can really save you. On top of that, if the killer has been slugging and your Adrenaline activates, you can just pick yourself up and get away. And, if you were on the hook when the last generator was completed, it activates just as you are unhooked, so even if you are hit by the killer after being rescued, you don't go into dying state. It's like a pseudo Borrowed Time. Honestly, Adrenaline is one of the most underrated perks in the game that come in clutch a lot. The only downside is that it's an endgame perk so it's not as consistent as Spine Chill. But that's my two cents as an Adrenaline fan.
