From what I can tell, the main cause for it is the fact that there seems to be quite an alarmingly large number of PC players that have this superiority complex over console players, it might be a good idea to just remove the globe icon if it's possible.
Honestly I don't see why the pre-game lobby even needs to exist. Let people ready up, then send us to a loading screen and then into the match.

Leaving one final comment to say I have officially given up on this topic. BHVR clearly doesn't care about impacting the accessibility of key binds of players. Disappointing to say the least, no one should have to remap keys on their personal computers just to be able to do something a game refuses to allow for no good reason.

I am really disappointed to see that this STILL has not changed. Even using a workaround means that I can no longer actually view the match details screen in game. Please BHVR, you've been trying to make changes for better accessibility, allowing ALL keys to be rebound is part of that.
I also cannot use my tab key for other things on my computer without unbinding it and restarting my laptop. Absolutely ridiculous to have to do that for a game.

Right? It's actually wild how broken I felt trying to play without tab as sprint, muscle memory is no joke

I imagine that wouldn't work for those using M&K on the consoles.
Honestly no idea if there is something similar for consoles, but probably not since it requires changing Windows Registry settings to remap the keys.

Posting this for others in this position - you can use an application called SharpKeys to rebind keys on your keyboard. I have updated my tab key to point to shift, and it is working. I can use Tab again. This is NOT a long term solution, but it at least makes the game playable for me

It's definitely baffling to me that they made this decision, but I tend to not assume they had bad intentions. Definitely seems like a case of "certainly no one is using the TAB key" but they didn't do their proper research. Frankly I'm confused why the match details were moved from the ESC menu to begin with, it was nice to have one location to see everything during a match.

I use my ring finger for sprint instead of my pinky. Totally fair question haha, I know it's not the "norm" it's just always what felt right for me

I still don't understand what was wrong with the previous beta wiggle system. Great skill checks = shorter wiggle off time just makes sense, especially since killers have anti-wiggle perks. Good killers can counter Boil Over easily.
I really hope this new system is just bugged, because it really seems to be doing absolutely nothing.

Posting a potential fix just in case it helps others, my friends and I experienced this again yesterday, all restarted the game AND steam once and it was fixed the next time we loaded in. So it could be related to Steam and not just DBD, or it was just happenstance.

My friends and I experienced this last night as well. I played with one friend for 2 hours without issue, but once another friend tried to join us, we couldn't get any lobbies to work from that point forward.
2 of us use Steam, one uses Switch.
