ah yes, the tried and true "i'm wrong! better start calling my opponent 8 years old"
i've played this game since before nurse was even a killer, dude.
"Out of all my friends I am one of 3 people that doesn't run DS or UB"
"Out of the dozens of friends I've played with over the years, every single one of them but 1 person got downed on purpose in order to use DS to get out."
also, I... didn't call you any names, lol. So I don't know where you pulled that from :)
You said that I'm lucky or a liar and you also said that I don't know what I'm talking about.
Also, I don't know why you chose to quote me without actually reading what I wrote. Yes, almost everyone uses DS. No, they don't use it offensively. They don't TRY to get downed on purpose so they can use it.
The 1 person I mentioned used it offensively by getting downed ON PURPOSE next to the exit gate just to DS the killer, teabag him and leave. That person is not in my list and I don't play with him anymore.
My point on UB stands. I only saw a spike on it when Hex Ruin was changed and killers started slugging a lot more because of that. Say what you will but I was there for it. Before that people were not bringing it often.
My point stands. Pot meet kettle.

An overzealous SWF that immediatley runs in with borrowtime or borrowed time immunity can often mess you up just due to the sheer chaos of it. I remember having a survivor slugged, one on the hook and one on my shoulder and all it took was 1 DS from someone I don't even remember hooking into borrowed time for all 3 to be up and free. And then a dead hard lost me a vital chase and the game. I don't get tilted much at this game much anymore. But boy did I feel like I got unfairly shafted that game.
Believe it or not, most people that run in with borrowed right away are not a swf. They are most likely farming others for points. Out of experience I have seen games like that go wrong a LOT more often. I get that if it works against the killer it can be deflating, but I've lost a lot more games when people run in for an unhook blindly.

Trapp Daddy main here, and I gonna say about DH countering bear traps:
If you put yourself in a position where a survivor can dead hard through a bear trap and you cannot easily force them back towards it then you made a mistake (example is killer shack if you trapped every entrance). Now I'm not trying to say I'm a top top .01% tier trapper player, but you pick things up like this and if your in that prior mentioned position you aren't using your power to its full capacity. And besides, if bear traps were a hard counter to DH that'd be annoying for the other side. All DH is supposed to be is a slight burst of time. If used on a pallet then it's obviously more than slight... But generally if you, as the killer, aren't prepared for it then you made a mistake.
Facts! I don't use DH too often, so my sample size is small. But in 4 years of playing this game I've vaulted a trap twice. Both times at the killer shack against a camping trapper that was relying more on his traps than he was on his chase skills.

Next time I get a 4 man SWF with all identical KAte densons with meta perks I'll call you in bub.
You talk about an all Kate swf and then you say you regularly get hit with DS after hooking 1 or 2 people?
You must be the most unlucky killer EVER. Getting a meme swf that use the same skins is very rare, so I'm not sure how it's a "regular" thing for you.
My guess is that you're more likely tunneling regularly and that's why you're getting hit with DS so much.

Well as far as I can tell, anything a killer does that prevents a survivor from popping gens in a timely fashion is toxic.
Tunneling at any point is a losing tactic. Killers who do it are either completely new, or cutting their losses as best they can.
You'll pardon my lack of empathy for the poor red ranks who might not manage a pip that game.
That's not true. Not in my four years playing this game. I've gotten destroyed in swf and solo and congratulated the killer if the match was a good one.
Tunnelers and obvious campers on the other hand I just can't stand. Camping had gone down a lot and hadn't been a problem until crossplay brought in a big batch of console killers that do nothing but camp and tunnel.
Stinky

way I see it, anything a killer does is toxic. survivors then have the audacity to say more killers are more toxic. they neglect to understand that 1 toxic killers =/= 4 toxic survivors. plus what killer has time to be toxic. if you play a map offering to begin with or run bnp/key or stay when the gates are open for no reason you are an entitled cry baby. At least I am having fun. Toxic killers are the real heroes in this community, they are the salvation of this game and they will right the wrongs built into the gameplay mechanics.
I will bet that the game you get mori'd is because of the toxicity of the survivors in the killers previous match.
So bringing items, add ons and offerings make you a toxic survivor? Riiiiiiight.
Fyi, I don't mind moris. The only thing I will trash talk is tunneling. But you do you. Tunnelers are a dime a dozen and they will look for any excuse to do it. Much like what you said. "Map offering? I gotta tunnel now". Why should you be any different?

I really, really wish any of that were true, but you're either lying, don't play this game, or extraordinarily lucky.
Unbreakable has been meta literally since Bill was released, just like Borrowed Time.
You're kind of defeating your own argument by telling me that literally everyone you play with uses Decisive Strike offensively.
I can tell you've probably never played Killer, and as a result don't really know what you're talking about, but you can continue spouting your misinformed opinion all you like.
Pot meet kettle.
I've played this game since Bubba was the new killer. And no, UB was not meta until slugging was meta. Also, I never said that my friends use DS offensively, so I don't know where you pulled that from.
But I like your style. Go on with your bad self calling me names when someone calls you out on your baseless comments. I had no idea eight year olds had access to the forums

Actually my skill as a killer ISN'T good enough to compete with full red rank teams. I can deal with purple okay and green is too easy, so I get why matchmaking is a difficult needle to thread, but when I want ONE kill for whatever reason I feel like, it usually comes down to camping. When the opportunity presents itself I'll tunnel, but with BT and DS it's usually more of a delayed tunnel.
I guess the alternative would be afk wraith to derank, but that's as boring for me as it is for survivors.
Gens are rushed. Sorry you don't like that, but they are. Survivors are camped/tunneled. It is what it is.
I can see tunneling/camping at endgame phase as a means to try and secure a kill. Any other time, though I see it as a disregard to the fact that you are playing against another person that loaded into your game to also have fun. Which proves my point.
So yeah... Tunneling someone to get them out of the game with 4K points and having them spend more time watching others play or sitting in a lobby for another 5 minutes is pretty sad. And that is why so many people are bringing in DS and UB.
Again... Not saying that all survivors are saints. But toxicity is a vicious cycle and it will only get worse. I can't tell you how many excuses I've heard from tunneling killers. And then they come in here and complain about DS UB and keys. le sigh

If killers want any actual kills, they have to tunnel or camp or both because of the gen rush and the nature of chases. By the time we hook anyone there's only a couple gens left. Yeah we could go chasing after other survivors, and maybe get a second hook before the gates are powered. Good luck getting a kill at that point.
Yeah, no... If you HAVE to tunnel, it means you are either staying on a chase too long or had a hard time finding someone to start with. That is not you getting gen rushed. That is you not applying pressure.
Besides. The game is set up to give survivors an early advantage BEFORE the killer snowballs pressure. That is why 99% of the time if someone dies early in the game and it turns into a 3v1 the game is lost. Out of the years I've played this game, we as a team have overcome an early death maybe a handful of times.
So enough with this "gen rush" stuff please. If you tunnel it's because your skill as the killer is NOT enough to get you the 4 kills you crave and feel you HAVE to have in order to FEEL like a winner.

99% of survivors run decisive strike because it makes you invincible.
You didn't see unbreakable for the first few years because it didn't exist.
DS and UB are absolutely the action. You would still see everyone run them no matter the state of the meta because they are just the best perks in the whole game.
There already is nothing but toxicity in this game.
Sorry but you are wrong on ALL accounts.
Out of all my friends I am one of 3 people that doesn't run DS or UB and you know what everyone asks me? "Why don't you run them if you're getting tunneled and slugged all the time?" My answer is "I don't want trash killers dictating what perks I'll use"
Unbreakable was around for a LONG time and unused until killers started slugging after the Hex: Ruin perk was changed.
Out of the dozens of friends I've played with over the years, every single one of them but 1 person got downed on purpose in order to use DS to get out. It was by the gate too. I never played with him after that. I've seen friends go into lockers to force DS, yes, but that is because they were being tunneled to begin with.
As far as your last statement goes, read the above. I've made dozens of friends in this game. Killer and Survivor mains.

I have some advice for you, I have found myself feeling the same way about being in red ranks. You tunnel and I mean HARD. You let them unhook in your face and chase that guy for 10 sec or so before belting him in case its BT. If he gets in a locker for DS just stand there and wait it out. You ruin that guys experience for the betterment of all of us.
In return, you achieve a few things which are more fun than playing killer rn.
- End game lobby is the BEST when you play toxic.
- You derank to play more games that are fun.
- 2K will still give you decent BP with BBQ.
Lemme know how you go. Us who play both sides know the truth, this game cannot be defined by its statistics which are skewed across the horrible MM system. It is grossly in our favor if you survivor main. We want more for and from killers and I know you have invested a lot of time and money in this game. I expect more, it still feels a bit like an early release. Demand more from the devs (who have admitted they don't play the game).
That is your advice? Be even more toxic? if killers quit playing like that there would be less toxic survivors. 99% of survivors run DS because most killers tunnel. Same thing with Unbreakable. You hardly ever saw it for the first few years until slugging became a thing.
Will there still be toxic survivors even if all the killers stopped tunneling and being slugging? Probably. Will you come across almost every survivor running UB and DS? No. DS & UB is not the action. It's the reaction.
So keep advising more killers to play like you and there will be nothing but toxicity in this game.

I've been a survivor main for 4 years and my exit gate play for the first 3 years was to stick near the exit and try to get a protection hit from the killer. That can make a difference between pipping or not.
If the killer just stood there, I would squat twice as a sign of respect and walk out. I don't know when this squatting started being translated as BM, but someone told me about it about 6-7 months ago and I was stunned. Since then, I have purposefully tbagged 3-4 really bad killers that tried to tunnel or facecamp me. Or both
I really don't get how squatting a few times by the exit gate before leaving is tbagging and BM. If a survivor did it at a palette or window, I get it. But at the exit gate? Most people I've played with squat a few times and leave unless it's a memeing ghostface.
So considering there's very little a survivor can do to communicate with the killer, try not to take everything as "BM". It's not like you're prone on the ground and the survivors squat on you. Go give them a love tap so you can both get a few more points and move on to the next.
Like I said. I've mostly stopped the squatting as a show of respect even though I always thought of it as a bow to the killer of sorts. If I am at the exit gate and I know all my teammates are safe, I wait 10-15 seconds in case the killer wants to get a hit off me and if not, I leave

I played this game solo for the first few years, and I was taking longer and longer breaks. I was about to quit but then I made some friends and started doing more SWF. Playing this game as a team is so much better.
Before anyone starts dumping on SWF I meant the game is better because you have someone to talk to, joke with, and meme around. and yes, sheet talk tunnelers.
If not for SWF, I would have quit playing this dumpster fire of a game long ago

I'm a survivor main and I have dozens of friends that play DBD. I am the only one that never uses DS because of two reasons. I thought it was a crutch (esp the original version) and I don't want killers dictate what perk I use.
Today I had a Spirit tunnel me off both first and 2nd hook. His "reason"? I'm not a Spirit main and wanted to adept. When I play survivor I get tunneled all the time, so that's how killers play.
Fact is that minimum 2/3 of the games I'll play in a day, me or a teammate of mine will get tunneled or hard camped. All my friends keep telling me to run DS and Unbreakable but I keep hoping against hope that killers will realize that the person they are chasing is not an AI, but another person trying to also have fun.
I don't care about perks although someone that uses NOED will probably get a noed = no respect from me in chat (also, thank you Hex: Undying for making more people do totems, but a totem counter by the gens should be implemented if it is to be an objective. Especially in solo Q)
I don't mind moris unless the killer will 1st hook tunnel mori the first person they down to get an mismatch.
The tunneling and hard camping imo is where most of the toxicity comes from. I get that there's survivors that can be toxic too, but let's be honest here. Teabagging in front of the killer will not make him depip. Getting tunneled in a game, though?

Just sounds like shifting the buck to me. I've never seen Brain Games though. Why should I watch it?
It gives you a lot of insight in how your brain works. And I'm not shifting anything. If BHVR can milk more money out of the game by creating skins over fixing their dozens of bugs instead, they will do so. It's easier to draw a new skin than shift through code

That discounts free will. The people make a conscious decision to purchase, with the exception of addiction. Falling for it implies someone was tricked or manipulated. Willingness to buy means they know what's happening and choose to do it with no edging. That part of the brain that's stimulated is only a small part of the overall decision-making.
You can keep your fruit analogy though. I don't like tomatoes, no matter how you pronounce it. :p
If free will was the only part in the equation companies wouldn't spends billions in advertising. Fruit analogy aside, I recommend you catch a few episodes of Brain Games.

I think the problem isn't that people are "falling for it" and purchase a skin to support the game. Moreover, the issue is people aren't buying a skin to support a game; they're buying a skin because they want the skin. It's little to do with actively supporting a company consciously. They know what they want. They know where the money goes. There is nothing to fall for. It's a willingness to buy.
What you call "willingness to buy", I call "falling for it". To-may-to to-mah-to.
Every micro-transaction game tries to excite that part of your brain that controls your willingness to buy something. Those that fall for that marketing ploy spend money.
-
I will usually save my toolbox for the last gen in case we get 3genned and I have to try to finish a gen before a patrolling killer comes back. There are two exceptions to the above.
1. I sometimes use the toolbox to "top off" a gen faster if I know the killer is running Tinkerer.
2. If the fen is at 90+% and my Spine Chill starts going off steadily.
Also, if I bring in a brown or yellow toolbox I will use it early if I know there's another toolbox waiting for me in a chest I opened nearby.
-
The reason this happens is because people choose to fall for it and spend money on this game... For skins. Plain and simple.
The saddest part is that they think they are supporting a game they love. Or that's their reason anyway.
What happens instead is that it motivates the developers to worry more about what skin they'll sell you next instead of fixing the dozens of bugs, glitches, and programming errors that have been in the game so long people call them "techs" or "strats"
-
Here is an example of what someone else on here called a tech. Everyone knows that the Huntress' hatchets give survivors hitboxes the size of a those new double door refrigerators... The ones with chipped ice and a water dispenser. It's been like that forever.
What are you going to do? Ban everyone that brings in a Huntress? Good luck with that.
-
A few months ago I went against a Trapper and got stuck on the glitched part of the hill because I didn't know I could get stuck there. Two of my team mates brought the killer to me and were pointing to me... Stuck with crows over my head.
The trapper left me, downed both my friends, hooked them in the basement because the killer shack was next to the hill, then came to me downed and hooked me in the basement too.
Why should that kind of play be punished?
-
I mean.... I don't know about your mouse because I play on a controller even though I'm PC. Other than that, your post comes across a bit ragey. Most killers are already faster, and if you keep chasing the survivor they get bloodlust and get even more faster.
It looks to me that you don't want to give survivors a chance to escape at all.
-
From what I've seen here, when someone posts something and two paragraphs down voices their opinion, they're just here to just put every other differing opinion down.
That being said, as a survivor main my opinion on this combo is mixed. I love the fact that Undying is finally making survivors do totems. I can't tell you how many times bad killers get a 3K just because of the noed crutch when I'm in a solo game. I've had games where I did 4 totems and still was left hanging at the end of the game because of a lucky noed killer swing.
I do think that the aura reading on Undying is a bit much though. There is no reason for that being there. If a killer wants to run a heavy hex combo, make them spend another perk slot so they can get that info. Make them sacrifice BBQ or Tinkerer for the alert.
Also, would a totem counter next to the gen counter be so bad? Solo ques suffer so much because of that little bit of lack of information. If the devs want to make totems a secondary objective which is fine by me, at least help solo players by letting them know how much of that objective is left.
