  • Most Survivor changes are placebo buffs or adjustments for DR, almost none of them will become meta or useful. It's kind of astonishing how little Survivors got this update, on top of having standout perks like Sprint Burst, Vigil, and now Windows and Five Moves Ahead nerfed back-to-back. No one is going to be seriously using Borrowed Time to recover from the mend state for Dead Hard. No one is going to be using Boon: Illumination except maybe a half-percentage point of Survs. Reverts to Spine Chill and "buffs" to Windows are backhanded with unnecessary cooldowns.

This ######### sucks; it's so bad that it only solidifies for me that the community consensus is right. You don't actually play your own game. Consider this: if inexperienced Survivors are having to bring two perks for the same effect Windows gives now, do you think they will have MORE or LESS perk diversity? No one is going to be bringing stuff like Better than New - a perk that doesn't even benefit the person equipping it - if they have two perk slots already taken up by ######### Windows and ######### Five Moves Ahead, or second chance perks to make up for not having real Windows. You nerfed Survivor perks all around and pretended like you gave us more options when really, there's even less build diversity now. This just feels demotivating.

  • The Windows of Opportunity nerf is a mistake.

Why would you guys do this? For fun? For diversity's sake? It feels like Behaviour is completely out of touch with this change. This perk is what makes the game accessible to new players, and it's on Kate Denson, an easy-to-obtain Survivor. It's what lets players begin the long, arduous process of grasping one of the most important core mechanics of Dead by Daylight. By proposing, and enacting this change, you would penalize learning players. You're thinking of turning what used to be one perk into two, and that's neither fun nor interesting - it is just economic inflation.

If players want to continue using the current Windows, they will have to additionally obtain and equip Five Moves Ahead which costs at least 9,000 Iri Shards or 2,000 at some undetermined point in the future. This is cruel at best and only makes playing the game harder for players who need WoO the most. This change doesn't affect many long-standing players of the game at all. Five Moves Ahead is differentiated enough already by having a cooldown and activation requirement; these perks ALREADY co-exist healthily. You don't need to change them just because 5MA isn't nearly as popular, not many people can or want to spend 9,000 shards on a character just for a side-grade to WoO.

My disabled significant other, who has recently started playing DBD despite my warnings, has literally just unlocked and prestiged Kate. She's been having a good time with the game, and I've been harping on WoO for a while now, and now I'm going to have to be the bearer of bad news and tell her that this perk, that has been largely untouched for YEARS, is now changing for the worse for no discernably reasonable cause, and that she's going to have to spend even more of her hard-earned shards to get the same result with ANOTHER perk slot taken up. She has trouble with keeping track of visual information and nerfing Windows will mean she will have a SIGNIFICANTLY HARDER TIME LEARNING for literally no other reason than a developer being bored. She's already really discouraged on looping (she comments about how she'll never learn all the time) and it doesn't help that you don't have accessibility options for controller (where is the hold/tap for interactions???). I've been trying to help her get started with that, and to have this come out literally RIGHT WHEN I'm trying to teach her is some ######### timing.

B.I., purely looking at statistics and making changes based on that is not tenable and only leads to negligible buffs/nerfs or complete unviability. You don't actually understand why WoO being popular is a good thing. When you implement changes without considering very deeply what, and who those changes might affect, you affect thousands of lives.

Please do not push the Windows of Opportunity change to the live build.
It is unnecessary, unfun, and unhealthy for people who actually enjoy playing your game.
