I shouldn't be surprised that the players I'm getting matched with are nowhere near my experience level? That's ridiculous, the matchmaking is supposed to be fair.
This frustrates me no end because I know how small the killer base is. When all four survivors escape easily and at the end you realize that you had 4 survivors with purple perks and the killer is working with one or two green or yellow and you just feel bad. I don't mind losing as a killer but damn at least give me a shot.

Sometimes Kindred kills you.
If the killer is near you see that and esp. new players are scared to save then.
I can't count how many times I'm working a gen with kindred and suddenly I see someone running the killer straight for me. I have no problem brushing someone off on an AFKer but damn man give me some space. If you get downed by me it's an easy, quick save. Now he's got both of us in his sites and neither of us is working a gen.

You know, players can just not give a hoot about whatever the SBMM system is trying to do, and play the game the way they like to. When I play killer, I don't give a damn about hooks / kills / escapes / whatever, as long as I have fun playing the game, and it's liberating to not care about whatever artificial win conditions the game is trying to dictate. I simply make my own, and a win to me is any game where I had fun chasing survivors around and smacking them. They can all escape, I still fell like I played my role well and had fun.
The same goes for playing survivors. Obviously "survivor" implies that I need to survive, so that's the challenge. Every minute into a match where I'm not dead is a good one, and I do what I can to advance my teams objectives to the best of my abilities. If I get clapped 30 seconds and face-camped into a match, at least I'm buying my team some time. Surviving is the challenge, and it's obviously not going to be possible every single match. I've long stopped seething about these things, I just die and go to the next match. I've got challenges from the tome to attempt, and most of those don't require me to survive the trial, so I'm still working on something, even if die, which statistically speaking, is going to happen more than 50% of my matches. If I play survivor a lot, then dying is just part of the experience.
Both survivors and killers play a role, and the sooner both parties stop caring about the rules of an invisible, broken "skill" based matchmaking system, the sooner both sides get to play the game in a more relaxed and enjoyable manner. I'm doing my part, and for the most part it's working for me.
Things that are upsetting and need addressing is the new player experience, which is currently atrocious. Some type of catch-up mechanic is desperately needed to get new players equipped with the perks they need, in order to stand a chance in the current meta and the matches the SBMM system tosses them into. The fact that a Dwight with a single yellow perk and 4 hours on record finds himself in a lobby of players with full meta-loadouts and thousands of hours between them speaks to a much larger issue IMHO. And it doesn't look like it's getting better, what's the plan to close the gap between new players and those who are veterans? Does BHVR have any idea what the new player experience is like? Probably not.
This, 100 percent this. I suck at killer. I get looped easily, I only get kills when people get sloppy or they have less experience. At this point I know my role is to give the best damn game I can give. So I do the best I can to entertain the hell out of the survivors and I enjoy that. I don't give a damn about 4K versus 1K, only whether I had fun doing it. I will never stand in front of hook as I cannot imagine a less entertaining way to play.

Part of the problem is people seem to forget there is a serious shortage of killers out there and abusing them at every turn just makes this worse. I love the "idea" of playing killer but I am so far behind the curve that the only reason I bother is because I want to actually play the game. The queues in the evening are ridiculous and I can play about 3 games of killer for every one of survivor.
The rub is that I end up taking my two perk killer against a lobby of purple DS/CoH/BT/DH squads and after three frustrating matches where there is no joy I go back to campfire simulator and wait for the next survivor match to pop. Play the game how you want to play, I never argue against it but if you want to keep playing the game then you should know when you are overpowering the killer you can ease off the flashlights as I kick a pallet, or the endless looping. I get it, I suck and you're awesome. The only problem is that now we all have to wait a little longer to get another game. Again, play how you want (and I mean this for survivors and killers) but if you don't give a damn if the other "side" is having any fun then the waiting will just get longer and longer.

Biggest thing I remember was not knowing about the audio cue for the skill checks. I just kept missing them and missing them and my friends didn't even want to come near me for fear of me alerting the killer. Then finally someone said there's a cue...well jeez that would have been helpful info to have.

I hate dc'ing and I think it's a selfish way to play. Having said that I understand where the survivor frustration comes from. I turn on my Xbox, wait 15 minutes for a match. I get nabbed early on (sometimes my fault, sometimes another survivor) and bam my game is over. If my 15 minute waits consistently produces exiting 15-20 minute matches I don't care if I escape or 0K as a killer but damn when you wait for 15 minutes for a 5 minute match it really does suck.
I don't camp and I am pretty putrid as a killer past the lowest levels but when I only have an hour to enjoy a little DBD it really does suck to have those survivor nights where you either die on first hook or 2 idiots DC while you are the only one working on a gen. I don't mind bad games, it's the WAITING for a bad game that causes the frustration.

I prefer killer but when I play a game or two before I sleep I sure as hell don't want the sweat fest of playing killer matches so I end up survivor. Having said that people talk about killers getting bullied...until it gets to the horrific level of Friday the 13th bullying the killers have it pretty good. Now that was a crapfest.

The sandbagging I have noticed has come in a different variety. Playing on console I almost always am the only console player in the match. I've seen a large uptick on people running the killer right to me. On the flip side I've had PC players pointing and flashing to get me to take out the console player while I am killer. I am willing to put up with the disadvantage of the controller but not from other survivors actively helping the killer.
