• Are survivors always this annoying?

  I've been playing the game the past few days and its been fun for the most part, being matched up against red rank 1 so often is annoying but they usually don't destroy me so that's fine. The problem is some of the survivors.   So I just started playing the game yesterday, but I've watched youtubers play the game so I am familiar with the game but I'm confused, in some of my matches I've been put against red rank players. If I'm correct, isn't that the highest rank in the game? If so, why am I being put against them as a new player? It happens while I'm playing killer if that helps.
