Agree with you.I don't understand BHVR not working and showing MMR.
-
Because MMR is not working.
-
The answer is simple. BHVR let MMR work. I have said it many times. A 1000 win streak usually has to be the highest rating. But in reality, it matches mostly boring survivors. Shouldn't the best killers be matched with the best survivors? Is it wrong? Game balance needs to be adjusted after MMR works.

We need two gamemodes in dbd - competetive and casual
I agree with you. BHVR says that splitting into those two match formats would run out of player population, but that's not true. This is because the population of players will inevitably increase when divided into two match systems. As a premise, there are two types of people playing this game. 1, players who want to compete. 2, casual players. So how do you keep both of them entertained? The answer is to separate ranked and casual matches. If both players can enjoy it, the player population will inevitably increase. What about the match method now? Neither player enjoys it and many complain.

Currently a hot topic and i see a lot of streamers complaining and i totally get it. You get paired with people that are so much worse than yourself. DBD is a competitive game and therefore it needs skill-based matchmaking. At least a little bit. Like i dont wanna play against Nurse or Blight every game. But currently it feels kinda bad to play as a solo, while probably the majority of the playerbase are playing solo and not SWF.
Also i wanna say that its bad not knowing where you stand in the Ranking. Not playing with consistenly the same skill players like yourself, it puts you in a bad spot. Sometimes the killer is bad and he chases you so long that he loses. Sometimes you get no chance to escape because your team isnt doing well. Sometimes the others are just better than yourself and you shouldnt be there. It also makes it so you dont really improve at the game, which is really bad.
You are right. BHVR understands nothing. Now the game needs a working MMR. And in order to do that, BHVR needs to show the player's skill rating. One of the hottest topics in the country I play in is skill rating. Many streamers and players talk about it.

I agree with you. I really don't understand why BHVR doesn't let MMR work. And I don't understand why they don't show the player's skill rating. As a first step, you should show the player's skill rating. That way users will give us feedback on the current DBD MMR and BHVR will know what to do.
-
Don't know how the skill rating system works? You can see that by showing the player's skill rating, and it will continue to improve. If the skill rating scoring system is inevitably bad, players will criticize it.

Reason to show
Reason 1
“Because being able to see a player's skill rating makes for better MMR.”
Is MMR working now? no it's not working How to make it work? There are two ways to do that.
1, BHVR makes MMR work
2,Show skill rating→The player finds out that the skill rating is not working (skill rating scoring system or MMR)→Receive critical feedback from players→Become a better MMR
Which is better, 1 or 2? The answer is 2. Because if it is 1, BHVR may be lying. How is MMR now? We can't believe it when they say MMR works.Because we definitely feel that there is a difference in player level.
Reason 2
“Because being able to see a player's skill rating makes it easier to adjust the game balance for better MMR.”
MMR is broken now. And we all know that. Game balance adjustments will come later. Show the player's skill rating first. Then, what I said in reason #1 will happen. This makes it easier to adjust the game balance. That's what BHVR and players want.
Reason 3
“A lot of people (at least in my circle) prefer to be matched with teams that are a bit slower and have better quality than matchmaking with teams that are faster and have a lower quality.”
Which do you think is better: ``Fast match time → poor quality team'' or ``Slightly late match time → good quality team''?I choose the latter.By making the skill rating visible, people will enjoy DBD more if reason #1 happens. Are there DBD casual players? Yes, that's right. So if you get critical feedback from casual players, separate ranked and casual matches.Isn't the player population insufficient if you divide ranked matches and casual matches? No it's not. Splitting those matches increases the overall DBD player population. This is inevitable. Because "it's going to be a game that can be enjoyed by both experienced and casual players." To be honest, neither player is happy with the current situation. So now the overall DBD player population is decreasing.
Reason 4
"Because other competitive games where you can see a player's skill rating are booming."
After all, the match between good people is exciting. It's been proven in other games, and it's true in DBD as well.Streamers who are actually good at playing DBD have a lot of viewers, partly because they are good at talking, but most people watch their streams just to see them play. DBD is certainly an asymmetrical game, but it is definitely both a competitive game and a game. If other competitive games have skill ratings and they're excited about it, DBD should show skill ratings as well.

i agree with you. What this game needs right now is real MMR. Hey BHVR, do you really think MMR is working now?

Can I ask why?
I've never really seen a good argument for it beyond a general curiosity or explicit desire to be mad at perceived mismatches, neither of which are really compelling. However, that doesn't mean no such arguments exist!
I just want to know my level. I think a lot of people want to improve on this game. I've played this game for 9000 hours, am I a good player? It doesn't show skill rating anyone knows.

Agreed! No thank you!
"skill rating" is a number designed for matchmaking purposes. My two reasons I dislike showing this number are:
1) no matchmaking is perfect, so stating DbD's matchmaking is bad, thus the number should be shown is not true. The matchmaking can be improved without showing the "hidden value" aka "skill rating".
2) we should keep player's psychological biases separate where possible. We don't need players adjusting out-of-game choices (to dodge or play the lobby they are queued with) or in-game choices (gameplay style & perks/addons/items/etc.) based on a number designed for quality matches. (Emphasis on designed for, again no system is perfect)
Ex: People already treat p100s (a # not associated with skill) as though it is a death sentence.
“no matchmaking is perfect”← If it's not perfect, it should be improved.
The matchmaking can be improved without showing the "hidden value" aka "skill rating"← Then they should do it immediately, but they don't. because it is hidden. Players can't see rating numbers, so how do you know it's a good match? As long as we can't see the numbers, they can fool around. i can't trust
Also, even if the matchmaking is bad, they have to show the rating. If matchmaking is broken, why not show that rating? Is it because you don't want players to know that matching is broken? Is there something wrong if I find out? Nothing happens unless it's bad that it's broken. If it is bad that it is broken, it will be improved with criticism from players.
2)←I think we should change the system about this.
