I don’t think you understand, the new “suggestion” for Deep Wound is for the timer to drop whilst the survivor is in a chase. All the killer needs to do is follow/ tunnel, how is this possibly fair for the survivor? No matter how long the survivor is in a chase the survivor will eventually go to dying state. I understand Deep Wound isn't threatening, I completely agree but the suggestion listed above isn’t the way forward

I did state to compensate for it going down while running the timer itself could be longer. I suggest 60 secs at max borrow time. If a killer spends a whole minute chasing for that down then your teammates wasted that time not doing gens or other helpful things. That on your team not the killer.

Mangled can be avoided (ignoring it or healing with burst stuff or decent medkits), exhaustion... doesn't slow the game down, perks are supposed to do that anyways and there's like ... 1 add-on that does that if i remember correctly? The chainsaw bros ones.

And it just becomes a boring playstyle (even if it's gonna make you lose as killer most of the time):

    • Hit the survivor that was BT, hit them as Deathslinger, hit them as Legion
    • Now NO MATTER what you do they will go down in 60 seconds. You can play awful but still get a down. And the survivor can't do anything except to try to get those 60 seconds out.

And it still would retain the "slowing the game down" aspect cause you still have to mend. So your suggestion gives you a free down+slows the game down slightly (unless the mending is almost instant)

Yeah with mangled you can ignore it and stay in a one hit state or uses items to cut the time but use up the the charges which is trade offs for the situation. The effect still wastes time on healing. But I assume you misunderstood that you go into deep wound you have 60 secs to mend it away it not a guaranteed down. If a killer decides to waste a minute to chase you he most likely will get you. Plus if he chases you for a full minute it allows your teammates to do gens and other things.

Because Deep Wounds gimick isn't that it should be a threat - It's a time waster.

We already have enough time wasting effects with mangled, exhausted, perks, addons that slow speeds. I only suggest that the timer goes down when running and mending. But not without compensation. Borrow time is 20 secs I believe. then up it to 60 secs but drains constantly. Its basically giving you a full minute till dying state. We dont need every status just be default slowing down but with a different gimmick tied to it.

Deep Wounds has already been fixed. While the status effect has a very low chance of downing a player, it can force them to mend and pushes them off of an objective. Making the timer go down, no matter what, is a bad idea and would bring back old problems.

Deep wound was nerfed into being pointless not fixed. Legit just a very mild inconvenience. A status that doesn't go down when running it pauses when mending so you can wait it out till last second. Just a slight time delay which in how fast this game is just doesn't do enough. I get it I play high rank survivor as well but let's be real. It's not enough pressure in its current state.

Oh let me guess, you dont like not being able to tunnel? if a survivor who is pretty much blinded with Deep Wound and still running you enough that you come in here and complain then I believe this survivor deserve his escape

get better at the game and switch target

One it made it very obvious you main survivor since you only argument was get Gud and complain about tunneling yet made no effort to actually debate the question at hand. I play both roles in high ranks and even as survivor I feel its just a braindead status. When I get hit with it. I dont feel threatened or highly pressured more just like it's a slight inconvenience then a threat like it should be. That's the problem at hand.

and how would it apply pressure with your suggested change then?

Depending on which change if by making it still drain while running but increase the time it has. it at least forces the killer to drag out the chase till you drop which works for both sides in my opinion. Since the killer has to waste time prolonging the chase to get the drop while leaving other survivors time to do generators or something else. The killer leaves the chase to defend gens and the survivor can still mend in time since it stops the timer when mending.

  • hell make it the moment you stop moving it drains insanely fast where if you dont mend in time it auto drops you not stop the clock like it does now. Then it could be more ok.

I take it you are new to the game, (4 posts so far), know that that was hte original functioning off deep wound and it was abused to hell and back, todays system is far better.

But I do agree it should be tweaked a bit that it goes down faster when not running putting more pressure on the survivors to adress it quickly

Not new I played it back when it was like that and yeah it was insane. But i rather it go back and it just has a insane longer timer to deal with the drain while running or make mend itself a longer time to deal with then what it is now. Cause in its current state it doesn't put enough pressure.

And like I mentioned that then comes down to muscle memory. Additionally you mentioned that the two killers would have to team up. That means five other survivors would be able to do whatever they want, mainly gens.

I mean true balance doesn't exist. This gamemode idea would take play testing and time to get it running in a decent state. But it was just something to suggest for something new and fun.

I doubt this would work well. Not only would some killers be much stronger on this if paired (such as two bubbas or two Ghostfaces) but survivors would have little to no chance unless the killers were nerfed, which then is a huge nerf as alot of killers are based off muscle memory.

Why I suggested to nerf the killers movespeed so they cant just run it down at you. They would have to coordinate to get a survivor.
