PATROLLING: going from place to place to check for running generators and survivors working on them.
Benefit: you can establish a route with primary generators to patrol to that survivors will be more likely to try to activate.
Drawbacks: your Terror radius tends to be a dead giveaway and survivors will tend to hide long before you have them in sight. If you can't get them in sight and chase any down to hook any of them, they will dance circles around you.
TRAPPING: killers that are able to use this tactic can set up any kind of trap that will help catch the survivors off guard.
Benefits: you can usually get I Survivor to come across one of your traps limited to The Killers abilities themselves. ( the hag having especially useful trap as she can teleport to her traps and they are unable to be deactivated).
Drawbacks: aside from the hag, killers that are able to use this tactic do not have effective traps and survivors typically Escape or deactivate them before the killer has time to arrive. Most Killers do not have the capability to use this tactic in the first place.
FISHING(CAMPING): most effective yet also most frowned upon even though it is a tactic actual Killers use in real life. Capturing a survivor and lingering around the area to wait for another Survivor to attempt to rescue them.
Benefit: you can almost always draw in other survivors while patrolling the immediate nearby area to keep your bait in sight.
Drawbacks: staying around your bait can leave the rest of the area open for survivors to work on generators and finding useful items. ( plus people get pissed off whenever you use this tactic because more often than not they fall for it and die. Even though with the setup this game has, it is more specifically geared for fishing then anything else.)
"Important note"
Any and all tactics killers are able to use in this game regardless of what it is or how unsporting it May seem are the only tactics available in this game.
Don't complain to because you lost. Bashing for any reason is an unsporting behavior that is commonly not tolerated among the game moderators.

I never pick favorites. I usually pick one randomly or have someone else pick for me to make it more challenging.

In all honesty. I've never gotten an ebony, and not many other mori either.

To everyone that is a killer main on dead by daylight. It is without a doubt absolutely not our jobs to take it easy on anybody. Would you want them to do the same to you? Whether you do fishing tactic, patrolling tactic, or trapping tactic, killers are to use every single kind of tactic that is available to them regardless of how much people want to complain about how you're playing. More often than not they're just kids or grown-ups who have never left their mom's house. So I say play how you want to play Let Them complain it just proves that you're a better gamer than they are.
Kill them all and have lots of fun.
