• A good tip. It had occurred to me that the odds of finding it as a killer are probably less than 50%, because you are chasing the other person sometimes, and they are therefore more likely to find the hatch first.

  But most frequently, what happens is I finish off the third survivor, give my self a well deserved pat on the head, then spend between zero and thirty seconds searching the part of the map I am on, then bam, the game ends.

  If it was mostly me chasing survivors onto the hatch, at least I would be learning. But I never even see the hatch most of the time.
