Best advice I'd be able to give is to stop the chase with the looper, often SWF groups have one or two dedicated loopers who are insane at it and the rest can do gens in the meantime. Stopping that chase and finding someone new will be your best bet because they'll either be worse at looping or about the same.
With most SWF groups the dedicated looper will follow you around anyway trying to get your attention so they will not be doing gens in that time. There's always the chance that everyone in the SWF group is really good at looping, in that case there's not much you can do if you aren't able to counter their looping or catch them off guard with your power/perks/add ons.

The achievement So Alone does not appear to be working for me, I've repaired every generator on the map at least once (including the portal room and the room upstairs) but I never get the achievement when I escape. I'm on pc, am I doing something wrong or is it bugged?

The community of DbD has its share of bad apples, like every community does. The biggest problem I have is the amount of people not understanding the game/rules but still acting as if they do.
For instance, I've had people tell me I'm hacking and being reported for doing so because "a pallet just disappeared right in front of me", I was playing the doctor with an order add on. Or reporting for camping even though it is not reportable.
