He uses it because Survivors who are expecting Killers to swing through the Pallets, (expecting Spirit Fury And Enduring combo) or just expecting the Killer to swing through it will continue to run for another Loop.

With Unrelenting if you swing through the Pallet, and the Survivor didn’t drop it, you will recover faster from the wiff. Meaning the Survivor will gain less distance than they anticipated they would from your wiff. Which, if the Loop is long enough around, you’ll catch back up to them before they can make it around to the Pallet again.

Its a mind game on good Survivors who are really good at juding distance, they know the minimum/maximum distances of lunges and maximum loops effectively. However, with unrelenting it throws off their judgement of distance gained from a wiff and caused mistakes from greedy loops.

Then he's wasting a perk slot, because all you have to do is just NOT swing through the pallet and you save the time swinging and missing 4head.

It's not a mind game...at all. It's just bad play on the part of the killer.

Oh and I would learn absolutely nothing from watching his stream. I consider him to be sub par at best and someone that can be bullied with ease. You enjoy yourself though :')

Right... You’re not getting it, are you?

An optimal Survivor who is Looping will always maximum loops. They will know if you can get the lunge hit or not. Go for the lunge hit and wiff, if they don’t drop the Pallet you will be able to catch up to them. They will attempt to go for another Loop because they THINK that they can, with your lunge recovery taking enough time for them to get proper distance. Though with Unrelenting, they can not because you recover too quickly.

This also has another effect of forcing early Pallet drops if they are aware. As they know they can
not make another Loop. Which leads into also using Enduring and Spirit Fury to burn through Pallets quickly, or instant break and instant recover for a hit.

You’re “just don’t swing” simply means they won’t attempt try to optimize, going for another Loop. There is no mind game, a static constant that is easy to judge in distance by good Survivors.

Perhaps you’re not used to good Killers and good Survivors. Those who are able to manipulate subtle things such as this to cause a much larger impact.

Though to each their own. If you want to continue to be the Survivors play toy, be my guest. Though something tells me you’re not much of a Killer player...
  • Probably because he gets spun and doesn't know to just hold his attack and wait for DH (actual counter play instead of using a perk like Bamboozle). I remember a time he thought someone had dead hard even though the survivor didn't have it equipped lul

No, you're not missing anything. Unless on console as it's easier to whiff with low, unstable frame rate.

Has absolutely nothing to do with Dead Hard, but it does help with that as well. Should drop by his stream sometime to hear his explanation. Might learn a thing or two as well.
