  • Personally, I think it's a fair trade. Prior to the "end game collapse" idea, if you had a potato team who died before a single gen got done...your game was over. You need to be damn good and damn lucky to pull off two gens before the killer even found you, but now, you have an actual chance at escape.

The end game isn't about "having a fun chase", that's *WHY* the collapse is there, to give people incentive to actually leave the match, hell the killer themselves now can straight up open the door and say "GTFO" if they feel like it.

So, as a survivor, being given this chance to escape where all would be hopeless otherwise, why shouldn't the killer get theirs as well? Let NOED proc and then you have a different kind of "chase" present...the killer can search for the hatch to close it, at the detriment of not being able to guard the doors. You can go for the hatch as they guard the door if you know where it is. If you're both going for the hatch at the same time, and the killer surprises you with NOED, then they got that kill rather than you getting a speed boost to the escape.

It's these tense moments, where you're presented with a choice...one leads to freedom, the other to your death, that actually make the game fun. When you have to weigh your choices against those made by your opponent. Be it the hatch, NOED, the doors, whatever...

  • Combining the lack of incentive to raise Rank, the lack of real punishment for DC'ing and the state of the game..yeah, I'd say DC'ing is an epidemic right now. I can't speak for anyone else, but I played about...14-15 matches so far this morning, and had exactly TWO that saw all four survivors to the end...I'm also counting first hook suicides, which are also common, cause you actually get BP for those. At this point, I run my build around the hatch game. I think I've touched an exit gate like...once, maybe twice in the past few days? Load in, first person gets found...they get downed, DC. 5 gens, 3 survivors...if the killer is a potato, then we get 3-4 gens done by the time everyone's pretty much dead but usually, the remaining survivors stop giving a sh*t about the match once the first DC's.

  • If your report has led to action, you'll hear from BHVR. I had a killer intentionally lock me into a game for over 40 mins once by pinning me into a corner near the hatch. Reported everything on a few different venues. (Yeah, coulda just "leave game", but had an axe to grind by that point) Anyway, about a week and a half later, I got an email response from BHVR saying "Thank you for your report, action has been taken on the account, etc." Can't remember the exact wording but you do hear from them.

  • Point 1: After Legion smacks the survivor, they (survivor) get a...what? 5 foot boost ahead of Legions sprint? Unless you're hitting it around corners and the survivor manages to completely bamboozle you, there's no real impact to Legion's tracking at all as they can easily see the survivor still. What this does do though, is give the survivor a chance in situations like the corn field, corners, etc versus having zero chance the moment you hit them the first time as you can easily...very easily, outrun them while continuing to track, seeing as they can't get out of the blood spatter range before you're back on them.

Point 2: Legion is one killer without a drawback to improper use of his power thus far. Huntress you need to aim, Billy/Bubba you need to time, etc. For Legion, as long as you can *see* a survivor, there's really no impact to just using your power, in fact, it only benefits him/her. By making it so that a misuse (misplay) is punished, it puts him on even ground with other killers in terms of power utility.

Point 3: BHVR turning Borrowed Time into a Deep Wound effect at all was a mistake, and it's something they're going to have to address with this particular update.

All said: Legion's still busted and there's really nothing they can do to make him work unless they strip it back to the framework and rebuild. I get it, killers like having an EZ mode, where they can just outrun, outchase, outstealth and outloop survivors without any real consequences. The weird part of it is that, at the same time...he's a weak killer, which makes it annoying for both sides of the equation.

Survivors don't have a counterplay, they wait to get hit and then stroll away and hold M1 for 30 seconds because Legion has pinballed off to another person. There's no real threat, the only fun part of the game (the chase) is completely taken off the table in 99% of interactions and Legion winds up being more of an annoyance than a fear, like a gigantic mosquito.

  • The problem at rank 15-10 isn't the jump in skill, it's the fact that you're often paired with people who just don't care. My last jaunt into the game, 3-4 days ago was pretty much my final straw with DbD and completely due to the other survivors.

Match 1 - Immediate DC before map load.
Match 2 - Immediate suicide when hooked in the first min.
Match 3 - One DC before map load, first survivor suicides.
    Match 4 - Killer DC's
Match 5 - Survivor DC's when map loads to The Game
Ran into that same survivor in next lobby and called him out, his response "I always DC on The Game and Lery's, deal with it."
Match 6 - All 3 teammates hook farming and trading with one another.
Match 7 - Immediate DC before map load.
    Etc, etc etc...

In almost 3 HOURS of play, I had ONE match that was 4v1, and each of my "teammates" were idiots just swapping places on the hook. I did the only 2 gens, a hook save, a shoulder escape (through wiggle), 2 hex totems, and was the last to die...and walked away with 5k BP for it, just...done.
